    Act of God

Has anyone seen the film 'The man who sued God' its very funny
and with the airlines and insurance companies saying charley was
an act of god, I think its worth watching

Billy Connolly is brilliant, a bit too much swearing, but thats
him all over. Still a fantastic film and perhaps an idea for someone

    Hi Chris

Fab movie, really funny! However, I'm sure I heard on some tv news channel the other morning that some insurance guy said there was no such thing now as "An Act of God" - may be somebody else may enlighten us on this topic.

Excellent film Chris! Billy Connolly seems to be one of those entertainers who can turn his hand to anything and do a superb job. Saw the film some time ago when it was pouring down. That seemed to be the best film on offer at the cinema and I like Billy anyway, so thought I'd give it a try! Cheered me up no end!!

    I just love this quote:
In law, an accident caused by the operation of extraordinary natural force. The effect of ordinary natural causes (e.g., that rain will leak through a defective roof) may be foreseen and avoided by the exercise of human care; failure to take the necessary precautions constitutes negligence , and the party injured in the accident may be entitled to damages. An act of God, however, is so extraordinary and devoid of human agency that reasonable care would not avoid the consequences; hence, the injured party has no right to damages. Accidents caused by tornadoes, perils of the sea, extraordinary floods, and severe ice storms are usually considered acts of God, but fires are not so considered unless they are caused by lightning.

But I liked the film a lot..
