Best bet would be to call them direct I would have thought.......... I'm sure they could answer you straight away.
Hope you get sorted out though....

    Hi John boy,
three years ago my brother forgot his license,Dollar did accept a fax of his actual license [^] which meant I could have a break from driving, but as I said this was three yrs ago.

I think that the rules have changed. It has to be your original driving license or you don't get a car. Check it out with Dollar/Alamo, but your best bet is to sort something out with the DVLC and see if they can fast track you.

I have to say that the DVLA were really helpful when I mislaid my licence a few days before we were due to go away and managed to get a replacement to me on time.

I lost my passport last year (or rather put it somewhere 'safe'). I called Dollar and they said that a fax from DVLA would suffice, and DVLA said they had no problems in sending the fax through to Dollar in MCO if given the details to send it to.

However, all was ok in the end as I remembered the 'safe' place at the 11th hour[:I]

My husband got a speeding ticket 2 years ago and had to send his license away, it wasn't back by the time we went to the US but Alamo quite happily accepted the s[bad language filtered out]py receipt that the policeman had given him for his licence. They said as long as he could produce a credit card and passport no problem.
