Thread: Itinery

    Mind you, I have to say your intinery looks a bit like ours. For the past few years we have just been able to do a few leisurely parks each trip. For octobers' visit friends are coming with us, their first visit to Florida, hence we are doing every single park - including a trip to the beach!- and at some point we've got the crazy golf championships going on! We compiled the intinery last night and I feel absolutely knackered just looking at it !

    Oh, I would also check out the best and worst days to visit the parks. Nostromo answered a post a while back giving the days that some of the Disney parks open early to accommodate their own guests in hotels etc. The parks can get more packed on those days........ May not be a problem in September, but it could make your passage through the parks a lot longer!

    You could treat your day at Discovery cove as a rest day of sorts....... There are things to do and see, but it is very restful, and apart from the snorkelling, swimming and dolphin swim, not much energy is expended..... Oh, and the food is fab there!

    Easy way to remember the Early Entry days for WDW guests is start on Sunday and it is MADEMAD (stay with me, I know you thinking I'm losing it but I digress), so
    M = Magic Kingdom - Sun
    A = Animal Kingdom - Mon
    D = MGM Disney Studios - Tue
    E = Epcot - Wed
    M = Magic Kingdom - Thu
    A = Animal Kingdom - Fri
    D = MGM Disney Studios - Sat

    If you are not staying on site the general idea is to avoid these parks as a lot of the on site guests hit that park and have been there for an hour before you even get allowed in.

    We always make an itinerary and it is normally out of the window by day 2 but it is fun to plan

    A few observations from your itinerary, but these are merely my opinions and others may not necessarily agree.

    1. You can easily do Sea World in ONE good day, especially if you choose a day earlier in the week rather than a Friday.

    2. Universal / Epcot on the same day is very inadvisible. You need a whole day for Universal on its own and ideally two for Epcot. But you can do Epcot in a day and a half and hop over to MK for the evening, especially if that park is staying open late on that day. You will need another separate day for MK, of course, but you seem to have that already in the itinerary.

    3.You ususally finish Discovery Cove by 2pm if you arrive early, and you can then go to Wet'n'Wild (which is not far off from DC).

    4. Unless you have specific reasons, change the proposed third visit to MK to Animal Kingdom.

    5. This plan frees up a day to allow you to do MGM on its own, as you ideally should.

    6. If you have time and energy left after your (seemingly otherwise unencumbered) day at Blizzard Beach, you may want to do a spot or two of shopping or catch a show like the Cirque du Soliel.

    Hope this helps.

    To leave Discovery Cove at 2pm seems a waste of a fantastic day. We arrived at 8am and only started to get ready to go home at 5pm. Our dolphin swim was at 9am, and the rest of the day was taken up with snorkelling in the wonderful tropical reef, standing in the ray pool, relaxing on the loungers, going through the aviary and generally having a brilliant, chill-out day. I could easily have stayed longer!!!

    Yes, I have to agree the intinery will probably be left in the suitcase all holiday - but planning it gets you in the mood - 6 weeks before we go! My main concern is retaining my Title for Crazy Golf [ Champion 2003] especially as I have 3 extra opponents this year. I did not do to well in training [Lyme Regis - over 70 degrees this summer - yes really!] so am obviously worried.
