this one always ruins my holiday and i still have nightmares about one particular guy at sanford who was on a roll when he realised we were overweight with our luggage. what annoys me is when you travel out they never ever check the luggage weight. i tend to take the lightest suitcase i can find as weight is very important and there are plenty of cheap places in orlando to buy good quality lightweight holdalls so dont take suitcases in suitcases as this weighs up. i also try and keep some hand luggage out of site when checking in. this really gets me the hand luggage bit as you always have pop and snacks in the hand luggage to have at the airport and by the time you get on the plane the weight has gone down. nevertheless if you buy duty free after being weighed this does not go towards your hand luggage allowance. i have always found it all depends on who checks you in...... some dont bother and some do. i have told someone in the past i paid for excess baggage when i didnt and got away with it by saying i paid by credit card and got no receipt the day before departure. it is worth knowing about the 35 kg limit per case too as often one case of ours weights over 45 kg! i think i have bought up xmas decs and toys in the past so my suitcases last year were not over the limit. i am often amazed at how little some people have going home and feel like asking them to put my case on with theirs. another point to add is if you have a large party of 8 or so they never add the luggage allowance up and put the cases through quickly but if you are a party of 2 or 3 they do add everything up. this definitely spoils the holidays.
