Charley damages in Chatham Park

I am flying to Olrlando on the 6 Sept. Can somebody please give me the status on damages in Chatham Park? I am a little worried since I cannot reach our Villa owners.

It would be good to know how they are getting on with the general CLEAN up operation in Orlando area.

Thats what the tee shirts say at CityWalk.

We are just back and things in the Parks etc are pretty much back to normal. All the shops etc are also back to normal. They took some time clearing trees etc off I Drive but that's also done. The last news I watched said that power was still out in some areas (but not in the main orlando area - One section of I Drive seem to be without power for a number of days.

Most hotels were fine and on the whole most areas are cleared, however villa owners in the badly affected areas will be repairing damage (re-buliding) for some time.

Do you know what areas were hit bad??

I was on the understanding that there was very little damage done to the villas?

Must have mis read somewhere along the lines!

Most villas that I passed were on the whole fine. A few were hit by falling trees however and thats how most of these got dammage. The wind did not seem to hit them in the same way it did the trailer parks.

I don't know the areas sorry as I have only been to Orlando twice and did my driving based on road numbers and not areas.

Hi Cindy,

My MC lives in Chatham Park and she emailed me to say they are still cleaning up trees and debris but mostly things are fine. She did have roof damage and quite a few screens out around the pool so hopefully it won't be too difficult to put right. Other than that she was happy enough.

HI Janice,

I am in Chatham Park and was during the hurricane..Chatham was hit very hard, with alot of homes with roof damages, trees yanked from the ground now lying all over waiting to be picked up for the garbage collectors but with all the back up work..To report if anyone has not covered their roofs I highly reccomend doing this asap because even though only tiles are missing from roofs the water is now starting to come into the garages and inside the homes as with all the rain they are just not holding up now.
