Beach Hotels on the Gulf

Can anyone recommend a beach Hotel to spend 1 night before we visit Busch gardens, looking for something reasonably priced but ideal for the family.

Can recommend the Ramada gulf view at Clearwater, it was a goodhotel with its own private beech, or why not rent a gulf villa by the day rate, may be cheaper if you have a large group travelling together.

I've stayed there too-and yes it was very very good. Ask for an Ocean view-and you can watch the pelicans diving for food. It's not really too much beach though-more a rocky outcrop with a little bit of beach (about the size of a pocket hanky-but quite quiet and the hotel has a nice bar and sun terrace).

If you want real beach then at the other end the Clearwater Beach hotel has rooms that literally open out onto grass and then 10 feet away is the beach.

We looked on the internet for good prices before we booked. Be sure to have a go on the sea screamer(big yellow speedboat) -they almost guarantee you will see a dolphin or you ride aagin for free. This was the highlight of the trip for us!
