    The Abbey at Westhaven

Could anyone tell me was there any damage to this area from Hurricane Charley? I am due to come to Florida from the UK on Saturday 4th September. This will be my 5th visit and any threat of hurricans in the past when I have visited have only reached the coastline. I hope everyone out there is safe and my thoughts and best wishes are with you all.

    Hi

We have a Villa on the Abbey and we just have a couple of tiles missing from the roof. Having spoken to a few of the other owners on The Abbey no one is reporting any major damage.

    Hi Mel and Michelle,
We too own on the Abbey and escaped any damage. My guests who have just got home and were there during the hurricane said most of the Abbey escaped damage. A couple of houses with a few roof tiles off or pool screen panels torn, but generally not too bad.
Hope that puts your mind at ease. Some of the houses at the entrance to the Boulevard on the right handside had pool cages completely destroyed (think they are on Loma Vista)Also the wooden Westhaven sign at the entrance has gone. This may make it difficult for guests to find us!

Many thanks Michelle and Maureen. Just hope I don't have too much trouble finding the villa now that the sign has gone! Either that or its replaced by the time I get there on the 4th September.

    Mel and Michelle,
I have e.mailed Josh Barbaree, HOA and asked if he can arrange for a new sign, otherwise our guests will never find The Abbey!
Thanks for the update Julie. We were so lucky so have so little damage and have all the services back on within a couple of days.

My thoughts are with all the owners out there who have substantial damage.
