Lake Berkley has come through OK. Not too much damage. Mostly downed trees and some of the houses lost pool enclosures or roof shingles. We were without power for a couple of days, but it is now on. You might want to check with the owner of the house to see how much damage they sustained, but the overall consensus among LB owners is that we were spared the worst.

    Hi Tyson,
Our property is at Lake Berkley so obviously I have been trying to keep in close touch with what's happening there. From what I can understand the homes survived very well with damage mainly restricted to some pool screen panels, the odd roof tiles and soffit boards (under the eaves) and occasional water seepage. The site itself has lots of old oak trees round the entrance gates which suffered branch loss and quite a few shrubs were uprooted.
Generally LB was "lucky" (If thats the appropriate phrase!) as , from what I have heard the conditions were worse the further you went east along the US 192 towards Downtown Kissimmee.
I know that the Home Owners Association have gangs working many hours each day to clear and reorder the entrance, so I would hope that by the time you go in September things should be almost normal again. We have guests staying in our home this week and have heard nothing from our MC to suggest that they are not able to accommodate them as normal.
Have you contacted the villa owner / management through whom you booked your stay, they should know what the position is.

Lake Berkley is a lovely area - peaceful but very close to all the action. I'm sure you'll have a great holiday.

    You're welcome Tyson.
If you have any other questions or concerns about L. Berkley and want to send me a DM nearer to when you travel , I'll be pleased to update you on how things are going there(assuming that
    I know, of course!!)[msnsmile]

    Hi, Teresa,
Hope things are going well for you!
