Transport from Universal to typhoon lagoon?

    Hey all,

Just wondering what the story is regarding transport. Is it frequent and possible to get from Universal Orlando to say, Busch Gardens and Blizzard Beach?

Reason for asking is we will not be renting a car and will be staying onsite in Universal.

Thanks a lot in advance, I know your advice is going to be appreciated.

I suggest you visit their website.

I don't think they will take you to Blizzard Beach as this is a Disney Water Park, but I may be wrong

    Try their weblink:-

    Hope this helps.

Can we ask when you are going??
Why are you not hiring a car??

You must be looking at at least 1hour 30 to get to Busch Gardens (thats on a good day down the I4) and agree with above they won't run coaches from Universal to Disney water parks. However, I think Universal do organise something to Wet'n'Wild on Idrive. A car is really a must have, unless I suppose your're in a Disney resort who do run a brilliant fleet of coaches everywhere Disney.

Unless you are only there for a week, and intend spending most of your time at Universal, then a car really is almost a must!
My colleague went to Florida with her 3 kids and stayed on I Drive. She didn't hire a car, as she was on a very tight budget.......... She is now saving to go again, and wouldn't dream of going unless she had enough to hire a car. Transportation in Florida is good, but things are so widespread that it is just much easier to drive........

Friends of ours who have been without a car have said its because they don't fancy driving in Florida!! Wrong side of the road and all that!!

I always find it quite pleasant to drive in Florida. Plus petrol is cheap so if you get lost, it won't break the bank to fill up!!

Plus you can explore all the other places - Beaches, Nasa etc etc

Try the links above for care hire prices.

We found them cheaper than anywhere when we went last month!

There is Busch Gardens Shuttle express; Daily round-trip transportation from Orlando, to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay! and other locations too. It may be free if you have a flex ticket.

Just a thought if there are a few of you why not get one of the mini bus companies to take you. Quite a few to choose from.

My bro-in-law is having a car for the first time this year, mainly because he is using our villa, but in talking to them, with no car, they spend all day in Disney Parks(Great!)but never see anything elseIf possible would always recommend the car otherwise travelling by buses/coaches, even those laid on, will take up a bit of time

Main reason is that the 3 of us going are all under 25 and it is impossible to get rates, that and the fact we do not have full license. Hmm I will have to ask about transport since there is no way we can rent a car.

D'oh! Oh hopefully it will all work out. We are going next Tuesday until middle of September...will be staying in Universal resort.

    Thanks a lot guys!

I would disagree that a car is a must have. If you stay on I drive at a hotel that offers you transport to the parks like the Best western then it is no problem. I have stayed twice on I drive and really found it easy. Everything is within reach the trolly ticket is only $14 for 14 days unlimited travel. There are loads of firms that do tours say out to Kennedy/ gatorland/shopping etc. The shuttle to Busch stops at the Macardo shopping centre. We managed perfectly on both occasions with this and also there are taxis. I drive for a living so when I go away I really do not want to drive on Holiday. Plus if your hotel runs the shuttle bus to disney etc you dont have to pay the parking fees. I saved money on both my trips without hiring a car. It is possible if you stay in the right place.

Do a search for " drivers under 25"
I posted this recently on behalf of my sons and another member of the forum was able to provide me with the name of a company that don't weight the insurance for under 25's. He can't post the company or DM you with it as this is against forum rules ( fair play) but I gave him my e mail and he was able to mail it to me and to several other forum memebrs in the same position. Maybe if you don't want the expense you could hire for just a couple of days, Whatever you do have a geat time.
