When I once booked a seven seater with another company and did not take their 'Gold' option the hire company they used in the USA, Alamo charged $56.00 for the first tank for fuel and then told me to bring it back empty.

Imagine my anger when I came to fill it up during our holiday, when it was running on vapour, and I could ony squeeze $29.00 into the tank [msnmad]

Needless to say I got a receipt for the fuel and demanded a refund when we left the car back with Alamo. Ever since then I have took the 'Gold' option as we have had more than one driver but I did feel you were getting ripped off for fuel if you took the basic option and the extra few pounds per week for any driver and fuel was a good buy.
