    Outback Steakhouse

Before anyone starts shouting at me, yes perhaps this thread should be in the foodie section but to me, not as many people will read it.

Has anyone had any food at an Outback restaurant in the UK and if so, how does it compare to the quantity/quality of the US?

    Thanks!

When we went at Christmas it was great, went back in July have to say wouldn't go there again. the service was very rushed felt as if the staqff had been told to get the customers in and out as quickly as you can

We've got one in Basildon, and the food is excellent. You only get rushed if you get in really early, then they want the tables for the next people. Main problem is that you can't book, just turn up. If it's packed, it can take a couple of hours to get a table. Steak is fab though and puddings are to die for! Haven't tried the Outback in the US, only TGI's in Detroit!

Went to the Florida Vineland one (near Dolly Parton's Grand Stampede show) and liked it a lot. We were not at all rushed - the bread in particular tastes great! Steak was excellent.

Went to the one on the 192 (twice). Good friendly service. Only one complaint, the servings were enormous. The kids menu is really good, offering smaller versions of sirloin and ribs etc. Highly recommended. p.s. get there before 6 if possible, really busy later on.

They have recently opened one in Birmingham UK and we tried it a few weeks ago.

Prices are £ for $ in the US i.e about £15 for a Ribeye rather than $15 and you do not get the lovely complimentary warm bread.

Much prefer the US for service and prices

We love Outback, and go every chance we get. Have never been rushed. However, I will qualify this by saying that the only one in FL that we have been to is the one over by the mall on OBT. Others that we have been to in other states have been great!
