Good to see rates dropping. Is it easier and cheaper to book flights and car seperatly, or to go with a flydrive.

In my experience it's better to do them seperately as you get stung on the "extras" with flydrive.

    Hi Roger,

You sorted out our car hire on our Jan trip this year and we are just back from New England and thinking about our next Jan trip. I looked at your site last night and was dissapointed to note that Airline Networks were significantly cheaper (by about £40). Now you are £40 cheaper than them. Combining this with the fact that I have signed up for Dollar's Fasttrack programme and have two free upgrade vouchers I am now a very happy bunny and will be booking up ASAP.

I really wanted to book with yourselves again as the level of service you gave last year was exceptionally high, I am glad that I can now justify the booking on price and service.

    Thank you,

    Euan

    Congrats on the increased turnover.

The new car hire prices are exceptional.

So glad everything is working out for you both

Just been and had a look on the site. The prices are good but I find the bit about having to buy a tank of petrol confusing. I thought that is you didn't go for the gold option you had to bring the car back full or pay for the petrol on your return. This is the way it has always worked for me in all the years I have been going to Florida. Could you please clarify Roger.

In reality it works as you say Jacqui. We have had cases of over zealous car hire agents at the desks in Florida insisting you pay for a tank of gas on arrival.

You should be given the option of paying fro the gas on arrival or bringing the car back full.

We just put the text on the site you saw to cover ourselves but do advise any clients we speak to of the correct procedure.

    Thanks John,
I thought that might be the case but I just needed to make sure.

The official line is that you MUST pay for the tank of fuel when you collect the car (unless you have the Gold option then it is free). You then return the car empty. This is the same for any car hire company you book through unfortunately.

As John says, at their discretion they usually allow you to simply return the car full and therefore not pay anything, but they are in their right to insist you pay up front for it (rarely happens like that though).
