    Any News from Crescent Lakes

    Hi all,

I am going to a villa in Aster Cove, Crescent Lakes two weeks this Friday. At first i thought everything would be fine, however the more news stories and posts i read about Charlie the more concerned i get.
Has anyone got any news on how this community fared during the hurricane?

    Many Thanks

    Mack

    hi Mack,
i,m also going to crescent lakes in a few weeks, been in touch with my villa owner and he says electricity is back on and there was only superficial damage to his properties, such as a couple of broken fence panels nothing serious, dont know if everyone has been as lucky though.

I'd get in touch with your owner as the damage varies by house. A lot of owners we know on CL have been ok but we've lost a pool cage on one of our 7 bed houses. It won't affect the guests too much hopefully as the pool will still be usable. At the end of the day it's no worse than a hotel pool as they never have cages either.

    Thanks guys,

I have just this minute recieved an e-mail from the owners. They say that their MC has just been in touch and that their villa is fine.
Feel very lucky after seeing some of the pictures of damaged homes throughout the state.

Cant help feeling a little guilty worrying about my holiday when so many people have lost everything [msnembarrased].

My thoughts are with them all

Its an understandable demand on how you will find the villa you rented and everything else. As most visitors have saved up for this once in a life time vacation, of course you and your family want everything perfect. I have to say the clean up is proceding fast around here and most power should be back on by Saturday as this is what most of the news and radio are announcing. East 192 going towards the Super Walmart as I drove by it this afternoon was a disaster, but slowly they are fixing the power and cleaning up the debris.

    Hi Everyone

We are staying in Crescent Lakes and I can tell you that everything is ok. There are some trees/road signs/fences down and a few lanai's collapsed but considering we were in Charley's direct path we got let off lightly. Perhaps those houses were just built very well I dont know but up the road towards Poinciana the damage is much more widespread and serious.
We dont have traffic lights but expect they will be back on very soon, power and water was restored after two days and when we left this morning (a pre planned trip to New York) the phone was still not on but otherwise life is pretty normal on Crescent Lakes and all the houses are intact
Any more questions, dont hesitate to ask

Glad you're OK Sheila.....I've done a few big storms in my time. I'm in no hurry to have a replay.
I had to get my daughter from school in one......and my car nearly blow over in the high winds...we lost all our pine trees........and a lot of tiles off the roof......but the homes right on the shore just a minute walk away..were flooded...and had broken windows etc......
Take care......have a safe trip and a great time......
