Thread: How did Rolling Hills fare with Charley?

How did Rolling Hills fare with Charley?

Flying out to stay in Rolling Hills (Magnolia Bend Ct) tomorrow. I'm a bit worried about what we'll find when we arrive because of possible hurricane damage. I've tried to get in touch with the owners, but their phone number and cell phones seem to be unavailable. Does anybody have any info on how Rolling Hills fared as Charley passed through?

    Regards

    Rob

    Hi Rob

Welcome to the forum. Early reports are that there is little in the way of hurricane damage at Rolling Hills but you may find some trees, etc down so I don't think you need to be too concerned.

    Enjoy your holiday!

    Hi there,
I have been round that area (Formosa Boulevard) this morning to check on my own home. It's mostly trees down with very little structural damage to be seen.

    Hi Rob

We have a villa in RH on Magnolia Bend Court and have suffered no damage whatsoever, although Charley tried pretty hard. A few villas have pool screens damage and the occasional one has damage to the eaves of the roof, but it seems we got off very lightly. There is full power and phone system.

My guests arrived Sunday (yesterday now) and were diverted to MCO from Sanford and then had a 5 hour wait on the plane before disembarkation. Then a 3 hour wait for the car as chaos obviously reigned. They got to our villa at 8.00am (12 hours late) Florida time after leaving Newcastle at 6.00am UK time. However the villa was immaculate (big thanks to our MC who has plenty of homes with no electricity etc and other problems to sort out). Our outgoing guests should have left Friday, stayed in the villa Friday night and left on Sat am to throw themselves on the mercy of BA. All BA flights in and out of MCO were cancelled Fri and Sat. so I don't know whether they are home or not. Don't know who you are flying with but be prepared it might not be the normal efficient operation until things are fully operational again at the Florida end.
