They be Gators not crocs[msnwink] It has been said that most water in Florida has a gator so I would not go for a paddle if I was you![]()

I'd imagine it might have. Where there is a lake in Florida, gators are usually to be found at one time or another. Best advice is to never go in the lakes, take care near them and do not leave children unattended near them. Other than that you will be perfectly ok as gators are usually very lazy and keep out of people's way.
I fully endorse the advice and comments John makes. Please don't let it spoil your vacation. One other thing not to do is under no circumstances must your or anyone feed them. Apart from being against State law, it is then that they lose fear of humans by associating humans with food.

Our villa backs to the small pond near the tennis court at Lake Berkley, and we have seen an alligator in that pond. Most likely in the lake, as well. Just stay away from the edge of the water, and keep an eye on the kids, and you will be fine.

We have a villa in Ashley Manor and overlook a small lake/conservation area. My husband spends hours watching the many birds and the odd alligator in the lake, just remember watch and never try and feed any of the animals, we have never seen one out of the water and feel perfectly safe. [msnwink]
