are non-Disney guests able to go along the Broadwalk. Are you able to park here and does it consist of hotels or shops or both. How long could you spend here. Are there swimming facilities. Sorry to ask so many questions but seen a few mentions of the Broadwalk and unsure exactly what/where it is.

Yes, anyone can go to Boardwalk, and you can park for free. There are shops, restaurants & bars. There are swimming facilities, but they are for the use of guests only.
It's also a great place to watch the Epcot fireworks from if you're not in the park!!
If you want a lazy day, you could spend it there relaxing and watching the world go by...

We often go to Disney's Boardwalk as non - residents as there's a couple of restaurants we really like there, "Spoodles" and a Sports Bar. You can drive up to the security and tell them you are "just visiting" and they direct you to a parking area.
The hotel itself is worth a look - very big and impressive, near Christmas the decorations are unbelievable. There are shops and restaurants round the lake and it's great to walk round it while you wait for a table (if you are dining!). You can usually see he Epcot fireworks well from the Lake and residents hire small bicycle cars and ride around the lake honking at people in their way! Give it a look - It's a great way of chilling out!

We hammered universal last time we went and we intend to hammer disney next time. the broadwalk is certainly going to be on the agenda. We used to do character dining at the Beach club a few years ago when my little girl was younger and we used to spend quite a few hours just relaxing round there.

I would say Broadwalk of an evening,especially holiday times/weekends is when it comes into it's own! Apart from being a place to eat,stroll, there are dance Halls there, entertainment, stalls on the lakeside, bit of shopping(mainly Disney),cake shops,swet shops,icecream etc, all to die for[^][^]
Halloween is amazing there, so much goes on, on the green! The pools are for guests only, and they are getting quite hot on that, but you can wonder around all the hotals in the area, Yacht& Beach Club etc, and you can access the Epcot park via the Broadwalk too, you can get a boat from the Broadwalk to MGM too!!
The BoardWalk is a high quality hotel in a great location for walking to Epcot or the boat ride to MGM. But I wouldn't advise it for young children as it lacks the atmosphere that you get in the lower end hotels such as the All Stars (our opinion anyway).
Oh yes, one more thing. You need to be fit for the bike rides especialy when it goes up hill. They don't tell you that when they take the money !

You always used to be able to swim at the yacht and beach club and no-one ever asked questions or stopped you. How are they now getting hot on that?

Yes-I noticed on our leisurely stroll all around the lake of the Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin and Beach Clun area that it would be very easy to have a quick cooling dip!
