    Birthdays

    Me again!!!

My son will be celebrating his 11th birthday whilst we are away this year, and I wondered if there are any special places we can book to celebrate this. We were away in Florida for his 9th birthday, and we had a Disney character breakfast at MGM which was wonderful, however, we are looking to do something a little different this year, as he is a little older. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi Linda,
Have you been to "La Nouba" (Cirque de Soleil) in Downtown Disney. Although it's not cheap, the show is absolutely amazing (See other thread on this subject in this section)
Our friends took their twelve year old , and she has never stopped talking about it since.
Also highly recommended for special treat is (Seaworlds) "Discovery Cove" - swimming with the dolphins.

Hi Kevin - Yes I saw the other thread re: Cirque du Soleil, and it certainly sounds good! Will be a consideration, but it does seem expensive, as there will be 5 of us. We have already been to Discovery Cove, and whilst it was a lovely day, the swim was a little disappointing. We have booked a keys 2 day trip this time, which includes a snake/gator farm and also a one-on-one swim with dolphins, and we have also booked the 2 day Miami/Bahamas getaway, so we have already broken the credit card! Haven't actually got anything special planned for Ryan's birthday though, so thought I would see what there is on offer. I might try to change the dates of the Keys trip to coincide with his birthday. Thanks for thr suggestions though, Cirque is tempting, just not sure the bank manager will agree (especially with all the shopping my daughters and I have to do too!!! )

My son has just spent his 12th birthday in Florida. WE said he could do what ever he wanted all day so the day was spent at a water park followed by a few hours at the Funspot driving the Go Karts. We also had to eat at the IHOP as Pancakes are his favorite treat. Great day had by all and we didn't get home to near midnight!![msnsmile2]
