American school holidays

Would I be right in believing that American kids return to school after their summer holidays end very soon..?
Therefore making the parks less crowded...
or are they off till after the Labour Day weekend.?

It varies from state to state. Florida went back on 4th, 5th and today depending on the school. But there still seem to be kids from the northern states around.

The US is such a large place that it's almost impossible to answer that question accurately! However, the Florida kids went back last week to school.

We live in Seminole County (one county up from Orlando) and our kids went back to school on the 2nd August. After eight weeks out of school!

Our kids start back on September 8th. Up here in the North East they either start back just before Labor Day or just after.

Our kids in CT start on Aug. 30. Spoke with a friend in NJ today and her kids go back on Sept. 7.

Didnt the kids in Florida break up at the begining of June? Some people may find it harsh to see that the kids are going back so soon.

Usually kids in the southern states break end of May or beginning of June, and return to school in early Aug. Northern (northeast)states break mid- to end of June and return late Aug. or early Sept.
