I'm out in cloudy Florida at the moment and would like to take my children for a meal with some Disney characters without going into a park.
I have heard the Grand Floridian does a Winnie Pooh buffet.
Any other suggestions please?
Many thanks

Hi Lucy
We have been to the Polynesian resort a few times to have breakfast, - last time we went there was Mickey, Goofy, Chip & Dale - great breakfast and the characters get the children up every so often for a parade around the restuarant.
We always ask for a table looking over the lagoon so you can actually see Magic Kingdom in the distance.
Hi Lucy,
Just gor back from cloudy Florida today but when we were out last year we took the kids to Chef Mickey in the Contempary resort. Great time was had by all and lots of Characters.

Thank you both I will check them out!
P.S The sun is trying to come out, still very overcast though![]()
Another good Character Breakfast is at the Cape May Cafe of the Beach Club resort near Epcot and is a great idea to go on the day you plan to visit the park itself. We valet parked our car for $6 all day (cheaper than the park car park)at the resort, had breakfast with Goofy and other characters and then strolled across the uncrowded International Gateway into Epcot. While returning, it was again a piece of cake to finish the fireworks and bypass the main crowd to get back to the car.

We have been to the Contemporary for breakfast with Mickey and company, and we also went to the Grand Floridian for dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the mice and the Fairy Godmother. Both were excellent![msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

We have travelled a few Resorts for Character Dining, the only one we were disappoined in was Wilderness LodgeThe place is very dark, the food was fine, but you didn't get to see it first so you have to know exactly what you want[msnscared]
Personally, I am a Grand Floridian fan, though it is nice to have a different experience if you do it more than once[msnsmile2]Great to spend time round the resorts too[msnwink]
Hi
i just thought i would add to this post
when we went to orlando in march 05 it was our first ever visit but we went with extended family who booked for us to go out to a character breakfast
we went to the Grand Floridian to have breakfast with mary poppins, alice and friends and winnie the pooh and friends
it was a lovely relaxed experience when we arrived we checked in with the restaurant manager/reservations desk and we were given a pager to tell us when our table would be ready
whilst we sat enjoying some complimentary newspapers and magazines in the huge reception area the children ages 11,11,8,6 went outside to inspect some classic cars and the cinderella carriage was out there complete with horses getting ready for a wedding so it was a huge treat for them
after about 10 mins our pager went off to tell us that the table was ready
we where seated immediately and a really friendly waitress came to take our order for drinks and told us to help ouselves from the buffet
the buffet consisted of your usual breakfast fare bacon ,eggs ,sausages etc; with patisserie, muffins, pancakes, bagels, smoked salmon, fresh fruit, yoghurts and there was even an omelette chef who cooked to order
the buffet was far superior to any others we have been to ( we have done chef mickeys in paris twice before)
the characters spent lots of time with the children so we got some lovely photos
the waitress was very efficient and brought more drinks before we even had the chance to ask for refils
overall it was a really nice special way to start our day before going to the magic kingdom
and i would definately recommend it

We did the Character Breakfast at Animal Kingdom this year and i was not impressed. It was like a Factory and the characters kept on looking at their watches and telling us to get a move on. We did a dinner at Epcot (The Land) and it was totally different. The characters had loads of time with us and the food was good.

If I experienced a cast member looking at a watch and telling guests to get a move on, I'd report it, and I believe that they would be dismissed immediately. I don't believe that Disney would stand for that.
