    Another Visa waiver question !!

When using a visa waiver to enter the States it gives you 90 days there. If you are there for those 90 days continually, you obviously have to get out, but does anyone know how long you have to be out for before you can go back into the States ??

    Thanks,

    Nick

Nothing specified. If you try to fly back in with very little gap however, they are likely to pull you into the little room and ask what you have been doing in the US and more pertinently whether you still have a home and job in the UK. If they dont like your answers and think you are abusing the visa waiver, they can put you on the next plane back.

We once stayed for two weeks and then returned two months later for another two weeks and got asked whether my husband had a job in the UK blah di blah. I would say if you are staying three months at a time not two weeks, questioning will be more likely. Years ago, you used to be able to stay to the length of your visa or visa waiver, nip over to Mexico or the Bahamas for a weekend and then back in, They have wised up on that one and 9/11 changed everything. The dept of immigration is now the department of homeland security and nothing is that easy any more,
