Hi well done on a great choice of holiday! Best advice I can offer is to realise that you cannot do/ see it all no way pedro!!! Just sit down and list what you really want to see wich parks etc and allow 1 day for each. I have got a fantastic guide book called the Brits guide to Orlando sounds naff i know but it is superb so good I got the New York one as well. It even has a usefull timetable at the back showing the quiet / busy days for the parks!!

I know you will hear this a thousand times but plan plan plan.
I hate doing this but for your first time it really is worth while

Also make sure you get to the parks early and pick 1 ride you really want to do and head for that first and then just go with the flow.

I am sure the the good folks on this site will have some more advice for you so just take it all in they are a very knowladgeble crowd on here.

    Enjoy Florida

To answer your question first, THIS SITE is by some way the best to get Park Tickets, Car Hire and (through regularly used agents) flights. It offers outstanding value for money and even better advice right upto the day you leave.

I don't know how many there are in your party, but if you have not done so already, I suggest that you give a Holiday Home real consideration. The comfort and flexibility that it offers over a hotel is unbelievable, not to mention value. Needless to say, there are several villa owners in this site who will help you if you use the proper link at the top of this page.

You have not said when you plan to go, but October is a great month with good weather and relatively light crowds. But even if it is off season, you may be pushing it to get places this year. No harm trying, though.

If your work schedule allows it, give 3 weeks in Orlando for your visit. That way, you can see most of the major attractions and still allow time for rest in between, something that is essential. Try to plan your visit by drawing up an itinerary. The members in this site will be more than happy to give advice.

there is quite a variety of tickets to choose from but if you click on the link at the top of the page, you can consider all options. Are you a mixed age group party? If so, I recommend that you dont necessarily try to do everything together all the time. Easier if you are staying in a villa because not everyone might want to go out every day & they can stay behind & chill & meet up for a meal later.
Sure you will love it whatever you do! Any specific questions, just ask!

There is so much to see and do, and as has been said before make a list of your priorities versus your budget then plan it all out. Remember to allow time for Q’s, rest and food, and most importantly shopping. I second the Brits guide to Orlando as a worthwhile purchase, you’ll find it is full of nearly as much info as you can find on the forum. A worthwhile tip is to get to the parks early and see if you can purchase the express pass tickets, they are limited but if you get there early enough!

We been loads of times and still not seen everything. One thing that i did find useful is a book on Florida which you can find in places like WH Smiths They list everything you should know about Florida from a tourist point of view. You should then do a plan what everybody want to do and see listing them in prioirty order. Believe me you need some time to yourself in between seeing things. It is hot and humid in Florida nd takes alot out of you. We like to have 1 day between parks and tend to miss weekends as the parks are usually busy. DM if you want the name of a good book

Yes. By far the best Orlando guide is Simon Venness' "A BRIT'S GUIDE TO ORLANDO & WALT DISNEY WORLD". It is excellent and updated every year. Obviously, the current one is 2004 and there will be a new (2005) one towards the end of the year. It is a very good buy and a must for someone going afresh.

The books are a great help!!! They give excellent information on each of the attractions which will help you sort out in advance which ones you will want to do and which ones you won't. They also give you good tips on maneuvering your way through the parks most efficiently. You don't even need the latest and greatest version - you can often find the one from the year or two before in the bargain books section of your local bookseller.

My only comment is, "don't try to do too much". There is so much to do that you haven't a hope in doing everything - what you don't want to do is spoil those things you actually do through being so knackered that it all becomes a blur!

If this is your first time, the heat and humidity can really take its toll so take it easy - build a couple of 'chilling' days in.

You are on vacation and don't want to come home feeling like you need another holiday - although not a bad idea! [msnsmile]

Nostromo glad you agree about that book (Brits guide) i cannot praise this highly enough. It is so much better than the run of the nill guides, much more interesting. I have used it on both my visits it is like my bible!!(eh and no I do not write the book!)
