You'll probably find a 3-bedroom villa won't be any more expensive than a nice hotel and you'll have so much more space and your own pool. :)
We always buy bottled water to drink but use tap water in the ice maker as the huge fridges we have always had have been plumbed in so the ice-maker fills itself automatically. Don't know how you...
I think there's a Black Market Minerals at Festival Bay at the top of International Drive, beside Outdoor World.
Race Rock Nachos ..... Best in the world!!
I think that's a great idea - we love Race Rock and try to go there at least once when we're in Orlando.
Lake Louisa State Park is worth a visit. It's easy to find too - just a few miles north of the Sr27 junction at the western end of the 192. We really enjoyed a day there, walking the nature trail and...
I have fond memories of Race Rock too on our first visit when the kids were just 12 and 9 (they're 23 and 20 now and still coming to Florida with us!)). We stayed at Summerfield Suites that year just...
I can't imagine going and not hiring a car as you have so much more freedom with one. Having said that I know a few people who have gone and not hired a car and had a fantastic holiday just the same....
We saw a pair every day when we were at Indian Ridge - what a racket they made early morning!! It was so loud we thought they were in the villa with us!
Ray and Sarah, I've never heard before that the Gaylord Palms used to be The Grand Ole Opry. Are you sure you're not confusing it with the Gaylord Pals in Nashville which is right next to The Grand...
Dianne, the rodeo at Kissimmee has closed for good. It's a shame because we used to enjoy it too.
I would book now as I've found that during busy times they sell the cheap seats first and once they're gone prices only go up. There are no late bargains to be had as demand is so high.
The photographing and scanning once you get to the desk only takes about 5 minutes. It's the queueing that takes time but that depends on how many flights have landed at the same time. Move as...
We always take one case inside another when we go over - never crossed my mind it might be seen as suspicious!!
Some great suggestions there Angela. You've given me lots of ideas for our next trip too.
This place looked like it took a battering from the hurricanes in 2004 and I presumed it had closed down as it looks deserted!
A lot of the newer communites that have sprung up are on Highway 27 which runs perpendicular to the 192 at it's western end.
Yes, Budget are located in the multi-storey car park. I don't think you'll get to choose your vehicle - they will just allocate you one and tell you the bay number to pick it up from.
I would definitely recommend a villa. Even if it was just DH and me going I would rather stay in a villa than a hotel room. And the cost isn't much more if you're looking for a nice hotel anyway....
Jaff, who did you book with and how much did it cost you? I'm looking for cheap flights around that time and haven't had much success.
That sounds great fun - I like getting a taste of the "real" America (no pun intended!)
It looks like the Ford Expedition you are thinking of hiring. We had one last year and I thought it was huge. Not being a very confident driver on the "wrong " side of the road anyway, I must confess...
Don't believe Florida loses it's appeal when your family is past school age - mine are 23 and 20 and still won't let us go to Florida without them!! It's a different kind of holiday but just as...
Isn't it a shame that you can never really enjoy your last day in Florida because it's the last day - if you see what I mean!!
