did it! 10 years on...

yayy finally done it... on 4th September i have been a member for 10 years![cheers][party2][high5]

i/we as a family have gained sooo much knowledge from being a part of this forum... think we have been to florida around 10/11 times now.. stayed twice at Florida pines... disappointed one of the last times we went over we drove around and it looked awful... (not all the homes did...) grass was all brown on several homes... how the H27 has changed! there were orange groves opposite Florida Pines.. no longer there its all developed along there... or most is :(
we have stayed at a gated community of Terra Verde and love it there, have met some lovely people there.. loads to do... we let our driver dh have time off in the evenings for good behaviour and a drink at the Tiki Bar...[party1] [party2]

Going back in 10 weeks and 4 days... anyone gonna be around and wanna meet up for coffee or a drink? (20th nov-4th dec) no kids coming this time just two very dear friends... looking for a more chilled holiday..... shopping for us cos we want to not cos we got to with teens!! :) looking forward to spending Thanksgiving in Florida! really looking forward to some sales shopping... well soon be Christmas....:p[xmas1]

watching Joan Rivers... sad shes no longer here.. shes funny

CongratsLieisa, it's funny how we have all seen each others families grow up virtually and their achievements etc. and all gradually becoming empty nesters but still not ready to give up on Disney yet. Do make sure you take time to go the Boardwalk and walk round some of the hotels and look at their gingerbread and chocolate creations. We o to the Grand Floridian as well and take the monorail to Polynesian and Contemporary hotels. Nobody does Christmas decs like Disney. We arrive just after you leave unfortunately so wont get chance to meet but have a great holiday and here's to the next 10 years as a member.Advice from people like yourself on the other side of the fence is invaluable to other people as they know you are not biased in any way. So thank you to you as well.

Thanks Steph... whats this all about the hotels?where will we find these hotels? sounds lovely just the sort of thing we would like... its gonna be so strange going with none of the family, Laurens now 19 years old last week and goes away with work friends she was just turned 7 years when we first went away in 2002...... cant wait to find things that they never fancied... xx

All the Disney hotels, if you go follow the directions to the Boardwalk hotel (you need to take photo id to get pat the gatekeeper) tell them you want to look around and they will tell you where to park. From the Boardwalk car park youu can walk around the Lake and see the Boardwalk, Beach , Yacht , Swan and Dolphin hotels, each with their own decorations. At the Beach club in the evening they have a marshmallow toasting (meant to be sing along but they werent singing when we went last year) and then show a film on a giant screen on the beach.
The other hotels you do the same, the Grand Floridian gingerbread house/shop was amazing and we were lucky enough the evening we were there that Mickey and Minnie came in for a photo session.

We will be there the same time as you Liesa and would love to meet up, we always go around the hotels at Christmastime they all look amazing. We usually get on a bus at Disney marketplace.
