Discovery Cove

Hi all,

Advice please on where best to buy Discovery Cove Ultimate tickets from?

I wish park-tickets did them but no such luck.

I'm arguing with myself over booking direct or using a broker site.

I would buy direct, much easier if you need to change dates - also I am sure that they can't get them any cheaper

Yeah i thought the same until i checked.

Approx £1250 booking direct (depends on $ rate but based on 1.53)

£1120 with ATD.

Not sure how a broker can do it cheaper which is why i'm a little concerned.

I have sent you a message in regard to where I purchased these tickets previously

Jan, I would be interested to know where you purchased tix from and how it was as when we went previously advice was to go direct because brokers were having problem. I wondered if that was why you can get them from here? We are going again in August and anything that can save a few dollars (particularly with the exchange rate as is) is a great help, thanks. Hope things are being sorted with your villa and you are now able to enjoy your holiday x

We can do Discovey Cove but it is nightmare booking guests in and insuring the slot s valid. As we had so much trouble we stopped offering them and highly recommend booking direct to ensure no problems.

we booked direct but again would like to know where we can buy chepaer... its a beautiful place to go and we had the one of our best holidays for our daughters 13th birthday.... its MUST do again!! Jan when u get time in the future, home or away can u let me know please

We booked through [edited out] and got the Ultimate package for £199 each.

[edited out] seems to be the place.

It has shown a £100 saving over booking direct, probably more as when you book direct they take the money in dollars so you lose out on the ex rate. I based the saving mentioned above on 1.54.

Just a polite reminder that we don't allow links or names of other ticket suppliers on here, although you are of course free to DM each other with details.

Is it, but we only do flights through them and they are not supposed to offer flight referrals from us other services.

Oh, they didn't offer us that service I went back to them after we had used them for flights ... I don't want to get anyone into trouble !![msnscared]

phew .....

We just came back from orlando, and we bought our discovery cove ultimate from [name edited], they were much cheaper than buying direct, and as soon as paid with them within 3 hours discovery cove had our details on their database. Wife and daughter had dolphin swim.

Bought our tickets, got the best price physically possible after searching the internet for 2 days.

You watch, someone will beat it now!!

£120 Ultimate non-swim ticket

Saved around £250 by not going direct. [msnwink]

tickets or Vouchers, make sure your are booked in with DC directly by contacting them with your reference number.

Thanks Martin, rang DC today to check and everything in order with my booking. Thanks for the heads-up.

Again, park-tickets.com is my first stop for tickets but if you don't do them then i must defect to the dark side [msnsmile]

Will obviously be coming here as usual for Disney tickets shortly although perhaps not the 2 park Universal, what have you done with it?!!

Like i did and have been advice by others, always call DC with reference or name to confirm they have your booking.

The website which everyone is on about states this in their T&C's:

"You will receive the actual tickets and not vouchers (except for Discovery Cove and excursions where vouchers are supplied)."

There are no tickets or indeed vouchers for DC as it's just a single day thing.

You just get a reservation number by email / post which you present to the check in staff.

Also, it might say that in their T&C's but it is not true. We have bought other tickets from them and have received vouchers to exchange for tickets at will call.

If that has happened to you , personally I would complain whe I got home. Even before we had our villa we had vouchers from Virgin to excahnge for tickets and the queus was horrendous so we swore never again. If you have bought them expecting tickets then that is what they should supply as otherwise they are advertising falsely.

I have seen that the company does say they will be tickets apart from DC. The vouchers are for SW, BG & AQ and are part of the DC Ultimate ticket so perhaps that's how they get around it? I'm not sure as the ultimate DC gets you the World Of Discovery 3 park pass.

I have received the DC confirmation and also the vouchers to exchange. The reason i have not complained is because our first park is SeaWorld and you can go to the little white building at the side of the entrance to exchange your vouchers if you have the DC ticket (we did this in 2008). The queues there were minimal.

It might be worth me just asking the question as to why i have not received actual Worlds of Discovery tickets.

It could possibly be because they are for more than one park so I'm guessing you are going to be issued with photgraphic cards (they did when we did DC a few years ago, to make sure that nobody else uses or sells on the other tickets if they dont want them.

DC is a photo pass, issued from the confirmation once you get to DC.

The Worlds Of Discovery pass which is the SW, BG and AQ are just paper passes with either adult or child on the rear. This is what they were in Feb last year anyway. The DC photo pass is only used for that one day then you use the W.O.D ones.

I might just enquire as to what the reason is.

We had a voucher when we bought our DC tickets and like Garry our first port of call was Seaworld where we went through the DC entrance to the park with the voucher with no queueing. When we went to Busch Gardens again before our DC visit we had to go to the Guest Services with our voucher (our DC experience was on the middle Saturday of our stay) and they issued us with paper tickets but that took all of 10 minutes. When we went to DC we had the photo passes given to us with a bar code on them and we then scanned them whenever we went back to Seaworld and to Aquatica.

That was my understanding as well Wendy, if you went to DC on the first day of your holiday then you get your tickets (photo pass) for the other parks there. The voucher is given in case you want to go to one of the other parks before you have been to DC. That way you can get into the parks by using your voucher. The can't send tickets for this deal as there is no tickets. Just the DC trip which becomes a photo pass.

Only been back a few days, the first park we visited was DC, sneaky one I did, was pulled up right in front of DC and a young lady came to the car to whom we had a nice little chat, she told me to go park the car, when i came back she was waiting for me and family, and even that there was a little que she took us straight to the desk, took our booking name and my passport and did our photo pass for us, which we also used and the other parks.

So just to double check. Its pefectly normal to get vouchers for DC as when we go to DC they will give us a photo pass that will allow us entry in to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens & Aqatica..

Does anyone online actually do real tickets or are they all vouchers?

Even when you book direct you only ever get an eticket to present at DC check in.

We used the paper vouchers (just scanned the bar code) at the entrance to enter SW and BG and then got the photo pass at DC (on the day we booked), we could then use these to go to AQ, SW and BG. Didn't have to go to any kiosk at any of the parks.

we're off to Florida on 25 March haven't been for 7 years so a bit rusty - you seem to be asking all the questions I need to know the answers to so I've been following your messages! (Hope you don't mind!) I notice the company that seems to be recommended for Discovery Cove has been blanked out would you mind e-mailing me direct with the company as we are hoping to get our park tickets booked this weekend and any savings would help when your spending this kind of money!!!!

When we went we used the DC photo pass to go in the other parks, but we went to BG first and had to sort out at a little booth near the entrance. 1 member of staff and although we were 5th in the queue of traffic waiting to go in there was someone in front of us. They were not speedy! When planning for the summer we will make sure we go to DC first to avoid this.

Our DC tickets have arrived and it says "Turnstile Ready. You are ready to start your Adventure, please proceed directly to the turnstiles at the park!". The photo shows Busch Gardens, SeaWorld and Aquatica... I guess there is no need to visit the booth to exchange the tickets now?

There isn't any need to go the booths, just swipe the barcode on your voucher!
