Try M & S and the post office. M&S usually have the best rates though [msnsmile2]
Travelex usually offer good rates, you can order on line and collect at the airport.
A lot of the high street travel agents guarantee to match or better the rate so it is worth shopping around.

I always use M and S as I've found that they offer the best rates-However there is an Amex shop near my M&S and they are offering better rates if I change the equivalent of $1000.
One thing that I do though is check the Business pages of the BBC to see how the rate is going because the travellers rates usually follow the day after so for example yesterday the business rate went down to $1.82 and M & S were offering $1.76 today the rate has gone to $1.826 so tomorrow I would expect about $1.77--The Post Office today is offering $1.734
hi guys, i looked at M&S travel today their rate is 1.791 today, that seems good to me, mind u im not off until April 07 was going to get money changed bit by bit but not sure wheter to hold on a littlelonger or get some today guess its a bit like finger in the air time, any suggestions ?
thx
When we got our there were differant rates for differant amount. We had to speak with the manager to get him to provide us with a better rate as we were exchanging £3000. We got $1.80 back at the begining of May and they were only offering $1.76 in the window.
If using travelex you can buy them online and pick them up at the airport (with a better rate as well). Post office is another good one.

Carrie, that is the million dollar question....but if you buy some now, you will spread the cost of your holiday, rather than buying after Christmas
we bought ours in the local thomson travel agents (formerly callers pegasus) they have different rates for how much your changing but they generally give the top rate if asked
they also guarantee to beat any other high street price we got 1.82 in may and we only wanted 1000 dollars

We use this company to transfer money to our US account...guaranteed no charges, and you generally get a better rate than on the high street because they are buying in bulk, so they get bank rates. They are offering 1.83 right now (updated hourly). Once in the US we just use our US debit cards, so no conversion required. If you are not constrained by time and just want to get the best rate for your money, they will do rate-triggered trsnafers also.
