Can it be done
We are going in October and have decided not to buy any Disney tickets this time but get the 5 park flex.
We have one day left on our Disney tickets from last year and the plan was to go to Epcot but leave around 4pm to go and get something to eat then go to MK just for wishes, still haven't seen it[msncry]
We would all love to go on Everest so is it possible to do this -
Arrive at AK for opening, straight to Everest and either get straight in line or a fast past.
Leave as soon as we get off and head for Epcot, spend the rest of the time there until 4pm, leave and get something to eat and then to MK just for wishes.
Are me mad or can it be done.
-
I can't see any reason why it can't be done. It depends on how much you want to do in Epcot as it can take a while to do all the rides and then walk around the countries. Go for it, have a great time.
-
They usually have Mickey's Halloween party in October so Magic Kingdom is not open as late as usual unless you have separate tickets for the party. You may need to check on the opening times to see if there are any days where there is not a party and plan your hectic day around that.
-
If you check the park opening times (Im not sure if October is on there yet) I think in October MK closes around 9-10 pm, so as long as you've all got the stamina, there's no reason why it shouldnt work.
As you say if you get to AK early then you should be able to get on Everest fairly quickly, if you check out the park map you can orientate yourself before you go and get to it in the shortest possible route.
-
I have checked the park opening times and made sure that it is not an evening when MNSSHP is on.
When we went to Epcot last year we managed to go on Mission Space twice, Soarin, Test Track and Honey I Shrunk the Audience but when we got to the countrys the heavens opened and we got soaked. Called it a day so we will probably just spend our time in the countrys.
Am I right in thinking that you only pay one lot of parking.
Dh thinks it will be no problem, I wondered about it. Girls will be 17, 14 and 11 so no problems there. We will just plan a relaxing day the next day to recover.

when me and ali went in may we did animal kingdon for everest then went to mgm and finished off at epcot for reflections it was a busy day but what a fantastic day, have fun
-
Just been on the disney web-site and new firworks from october called dreams to go with the year of a million dreams, couldn't find a start date.
-
Sally if you only want to do the countries at Epcot then going to AK first is a great idea - the countries don't open until 11am (from memory!!) so you should be there in great time.
-
Sally, yes you only pay parking once at the Disney parks. Pay at AK and it is valid at the other parks all day [msnsmile]

Sally - your day sounds pretty much like the one we have planned for this trip.:D Just go for it - if you are orgainised there is no reason why you should not be able to fit it all in.
-
I know Wishes is due to end in October to make way for another firework display, so it might be worth dropping Disney an email to find out when the new show runs from.
They also tend to do different fireworks for Halloween too, so make sure that Wishes is still being performed before your finalise your plans.
-
Sally, I've done a similar thing in the evenings when I've been photographing the fireworks.
One tip I would offer is to consider parking at just one park and using the Disney transport between them. My first thought would be to park at MK and then get the bus across to AK, then the bus from AK to Epcot, then the monorail from Epcot back to MK. The Disney transportation will likely get you between parks faster than you can drive as they tend to pick-up and drop-off right outside the entrance so you cut out all the to-ing and fro-ing around the car parks.
It sounds like a wicked day. Do check the fireworks times as if you have the stamina after Wishes it might even be possible to get back to Epcot for Illuminations.
-
Thank you to everyone who helped.
Snapper, good idea about using the transportation, never thought of that. We were going to leave Disney to go and get something to eat but may just eat there, another thing we have never done is to eat at the parks.
I can't see anything about new fireworks, the day we are planning to go it says Wishes is on at 9pm. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be still on.
Last year we missed Wishes, Reflections and Fantasmic[msncry].
Wishes was because the website said it was on at 9pm but when we got in the park it said it wasn't on[msnmad]. Fantasmic we missed because of the weather, it poured down[msnmad] and Reflections again the weather[msnmad]
Is it possible to we can watch Reflections from somewhere else another day ie Broadwalk one evening.
-
The gas station opposite the entrance to Baordwalk will give you a partial view of Reflections, but to be honest, because it is a multilevel display with fountains and lasers as well as the fireworks, you would be better viewing it anywhere around the Wolrd Showcase Lagoon in Epcot itself.
-
sally as others have said you will have no problem in the theory of your day. this is a normal day for us [msneek] you could also fit typhoon lagoon and disney quest into this day!!
so if you get to ak for opening and go straight to everest, pull a fast pass, ride the attraction normally once or twice, nip round to the safari then use your everest fast passes.
then same game at epcot with the test track fast passes etc.
food wise there's a myriad of taste bud teasers in epcot- whatever takes your fancy really, or you could ring for a late take away italian to pick up on your way home
depending on how the queues are or how many times you want to ride we usually prefer to drive between parks, then if your mood or the weather changes things you have your transport to hand - but each to their own.
i heard of one guy who always parked at typhoon lagoon to skip the parking but then he was so tight moths used to fly out of his wallet.when he was nominated driver(in someone elses car) he used to charge his mates for a lift home [msnsmile2]

didnt think you were allowed to do that?[msnwink]

If you wanted to be really organised then you could go to AK, get your fast pass tickets, go and have breakfast in the park, do Everest then head over to Epcot.
It will mean an early start but I think AK is open at 7.30 on some days in the summer (if I remember correctly)
We did this last year and although it made it a long day, it was well worth it!
