Sally & Co Part 1
Wednesday 12th October-
Finally after all this wait, tomorrow we are off to Florida[clap]
There are 7 of us this time, myself, my husband Peter, our 3 girls, Rachel 16, Hannah 13 and Jessica 10. This will be our 3rd time. Coming with us will be my sister Ann and my niece Sarah 17, they are both first timers.
Previous trips we have travelled to the Gatwick on the morning but as Ann and Sarah are travelling from North Yorkshire we decided to stay with them in a bed and breakfast near Gatwick.
Today the girls went to school/college and Peter to work and I spent the day cleaning and last minute packing. Also taking our dog round to my frined Annies who was looking after him for us. I had to go and pick Peter up from work so that we could leave my car there, no room in the garage and better than leaving it out on the road for 2 weeks. Once all this was done we were ready for the off[clap]. Ann had phoned in the afternoon to say she was leaving and would meet us at the B&B.
Found the B&B, just as we were pulling into the carpark Ann and Sarah were getting out of their car, not bad timing[msnsmile2]. Well the B&B was clean and served the purpose but we didn't get a warm and friendly welcome, infact she was a bit of a dragon[msnsad].
Once we were sorted out there we set off for north terminal to the checkin. I lost count the number of times we drove round and round north terminal. First we missed the carpark entrance, then second time round realised that our Land Rover Discovery would not fit in, so round again and followed the signs for high sided vehicles, but the signs just stopeed, round again, same thing happened again, and again and again[msnmad]. Rachel then notice a very small sign behind a bush that directed us to the high sided vehicle car park. By this time we had lost Ann and Sarah who had parked in the normal car park, so Peter set off to find them, luckily the airport was empty and they were found quickly.
Evening checkin was great, we were the only ones there[msnsmile2]. With this all done it was now 9.30pm and everyone was starving so we left the airport and went in search of food. Must of gone the wrong way because we could find nothing, eventually the only place we found was an indian, not what we had in mind but at least it was something.
Back in the B&B we all settled down for the night. We were told that a taxi was arriving at 8.30am to take us to north terminal and breakfast was at 7.30am. The dragon had given us our instructions and I for one was not going to argue with her.
We flew with BA and the flight was fine apart from Jessica's childs meal never appeared[msnmad]. I had booked this when I booked the tickets 11 months before, and even when I phoned to change our seats I checked and they assured me that a childs meal was ordered. The crew were not bothered, and I know it was not their fault but their attitude stank.
We arrived at MCO on time and breezed through immigration. When we arrived at the second baggage claim, Ann said 'why is that man holding up a card with your name'. I had booked as a reward for my girls changing their eating habits to a healthy diet a limo to take us to the villa. Although we know about it as it was what the girls had picked, Ann and Sarah knew nothing about it and their faces were a picture.
It was nice not having to go to the car hire desk, we were dropping Peter off at Dollar on the 192 to pick up the car. Off we set and we all enjoyed the ride. Our driver waited for the thumbs up from Peter to say everything was OK with our car and he then dropped the rest of us off at the villa in Liberty Village. Again he waited until we gave him the thumbs up to say that we were in. We were at the villa by 4.30pm[clap], closely followed by Peter with the car. Now I always leave the driving to him but I did say that this time I would drive, give him a break and also you never know what could happen and I may have to drive, we were going to call into dollor in the morning with my licence but when I saw the size of the 8 seater I knew

Can't wait for the next bit. I had to laugh when you said about tidying up and no room in the garage. My husband thinks I'm crazy but I like to do a spring clean before I go away. No room in the garage? we have a double garage and you would be lucky to fit a motorbike in it.

Great start Sally, looking forward to the next bit[msnsmile2]

Paula, I am just the same, have to go through the house like a dose of salts, all beds changed and every bit of washing done. Many's a time the family have been waiting in the car as I take the last load out of the tumble drier!
Nice to know I am not alone. After all, you never know what might happen.[msnwink]

Yes thats the one Liesa, at the end of Poinciana. We were just a bit further along than you. Infact every time we drove past I thought of you staying there and Jadehouse having a house there. Whenever we went past an entrance to a community I thought of someone how had a house there, like when we saw Sandy Ridge I thought of Liz and Eagle Pointe, Stabbard.
Ravinto, yes then limo was fine, the same as you in that the inside was a little worn, myself and Peter noticed but the girls didn't. The driver was very good though. I thought $95 was great considering I paid £268 for an hours limo hire here in July for Rachels prom.
