Hi Is there any of the above quite close to Disney?
There are lots. Which direction are you coming from so we can better advise you?
There are some within in Disney. Most of the character meals are good quality buffets.
The best I can recomend are Boma at Animal Kindgom Lodge (the hotel not in park), Renaisance Hotel on a sunday, Gaylord Palms. These 3 are around $25 for an adult and excellent quality. For cheap and cheerful you cannot beat Golden Coral - but it is cheap and cheerful.

We will be staying at Indian Creek, near Formosa.
There are a number of buffet restaurants on the 192 just near to you, including the Golden Corral.
Western Sizzlin near Old Town on 192 is well worth visiting.
oh theyre all worth visiting! if it means no cooking!! we like to try them![msnwink]
We went to a ponderosa when we were last out, and it was disappointing. The buffet was fine, but the entree's (4 out of 5 ordered) were bland and not very nice.
Pete loves having all u can eat buffets. He has lost a stone and a half since Christmas. Me thinks most will be going back on, especially if we visit these restaurants. No point dieting whilst in Florida.
but then he may well burn it off by walking around the parks! i was pleasantly surprised that i dont put weight on when on holidays! am big enough but dont worry on hols, but it doesnt go on! keep him walking or swimming! or other?[msnwink] hubby swears it keeps his weight off! walking
I don't like them[sick] but lots of them around[msnwink]
Is there ant good Italian Buffets
The buffets are super value, especially if you have young children.
They are by far the hardest to please and ours seem well nourished after avisit to one of these places!
We usually visit an all you can eat buffet for breakfast on a park day, fill up and then don't need to eat again until the evening when we come out of the park.[msnsmile2]

We do exactly the same, Sizzlers (on International Drive) is a firm favourite for a breakfast buffet...fruit,cereals,pastries,eggs,bacon,hash browns, sausages!!better stop it's making me hungry:Dbut it really sets you up for a day round the parks. Golden Coral is a good evening buffet.
We like the Golden Coral. From 4pm you can have as much steak as you can eat (along with stacks of other meats, salads, cooked veggies, fruit, cake, breads, sweets etc- etc.[^]
I think for beakfast you cant beat the Golden Corral - they do omlettes to order, it is nice for dinner also but it always reminds me of a school canteen, but for value, it cant be beaten - where else could you eat as much steak as you want?:D
We tried Golden Coral for the first time in April and was very pleased. Our kids can be very picky, but I must admit all 11(2 families) of us left with a full stomach. The service for drinks and more plates was also very good.
Disney character braekfast buffets are fantastic, highly recommend Grand Floridian. Ponderosa was not for me at all, though the food was fine to be fair, it was just VERY busy and I guess that gave it a bit of a yuk rating.:(
When we are a large group I think the buffet works well, since the kids can just do there own thing but when it is just the two of us I'm not a fan.
We found the food at Golden Coral was excellent but hated the way these sort of places encourage people to continually get up & help themselves. I know thats the idea but it does nothing to encourage good manners in children when people are always getting up to leave the table. We tried to all go to the service at once but gave up in the end - I also hate to see people taking so much food and then leaving it if they dont like it, just because they don't have to pay more. Excellent value but I have definate reservations!!!![msnsad]
When my wife and I first stayed in Flordia we visited one of these on our first or second day. Later in the week we were musing over where to eat, my wife chirped in 'Lets see if we can find one of those "eat as much as you can" places'! I've never let her live it down to this day (Its OK, she doesn't read this forum).
My lot like the Golden Coral, we fill up before the parks then all we need are drinks throughout the day and stop for dinner on the way home.
I also hate to see people putting so much on their plate and then leaving most of it. My girls are told they only take what they will eat and if they are unsure just take a little and go back if they like it.
Has to be the Golden Corral Breakfast for us. We go at least once when ever we are there. It is great to fill up for a day at the parks.
We too were very Dissapointed in Poderosa, it was very busy and the food was not as good as had been when we first visited many moons ago.
We too like to teach the kids to only take a little and they can always go back if they are still hungry.

[/quote]We have just returned from our villa and reserved our last night's meal for what we think is the best "all you can eat" buffet. This is Boma resturant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is about $25 per head so not cheap but well worth it. This is one of the best kept secrets, so don't tell everyone, oops looks like I just have.
Sweet Tomatoes always gets a good press

I would second that, we gave it a try in February and it made a nice change from all the heavy meals we had eaten.[msnsmile2]
theres a sweet tomato on idrive near chillis, wet n wild isnt there?
There is a good 'all you can eat buffet' Chinese restaurant on International Drive. Unfortunately I just can't remember what it is called at the moment!![msnembarrased]

Yep, thats the one we visited, lots of nice salady things to choose from.[msnsmile2]
Hi Angela,
We're in Florida at the moment and went to the Renaissance hotel yesterday (Sunday) for their superb "brunch" buffet. Abslutely amazing selection of top class food, champagne by the bucketful. Not exactly cheap at around $35 per head, but unsurpassed for quality of the food.
Went there about 11.30 am and came out around 2.30 pm bloated [msntongue][msntongue]
The Renaissance is right next to Seaworld - highly recommended!!
On a slightly different note, Pizza Hut does the same 'all you can eat' buffet lunch that you can get in the UK but it's not just the bland pizzas that you can choose from...there are stuffed crusts/sweet pizzas and every variety in between. Combined with the free refills on coffee and soft drinks it's incredible value.
Well worth a visit.
Pete
Thanks for that Pete, we will bear that in mind when we are over in Florida in August, our sons love Pizza Hut and there salad bar is usuaaly pretty good too.[msnsmile]
hubby has never tried a pizza hut over here so am gonna make sure we find one in florida, its great for me a slice of pizza and so much yummy salad!!!!!!!

I can't believe i am sat at home with a stomach bug [sick][sick][sick]reading about food!
But I have got to agree with Lakey, the buffet at Boma's is the best. We have very picky kids who turn their nose up at anything different but they all loved BOMA's The atmosphere is amazing too. We ate so much that we couldnt eat any sweets, so asked for a doggy bag. The sweets just looked too good to miss[msnembarrased]. They said that they would not normally do this but as a one off no problem.
We then went for a walk around the grounds. It had just rained and the brazier was burning outside, it was a magical night. can't wait to go back in August....we are going for our wedding anniversary celebration.
Sizzlers is also good for breakfast. Nothing amazing just wholesome food, reasonable prices, as much as you can eat[msncry] and enough choice to suit everyone.
How much to these buffets cost?
Anyone particularly know how much the pizza hut one costs?
Oh, and are there any buffet restaurants that do chicken, all kinds, especially wings?
We found a great place, top of International Drive, can't remember the name of it but it was something to do with trains. Really good food, great prices and top service from staff. Does anyone know the one I mean?
(newbie, will introduce myself when I find out how).
Mary
Yeah i would be VERY interested to know how much the Pizza Hut Buffet costs. I lurve Pizza Hut pizzas and the salads.[msntongue]
I had a quick search online - yes I am really busy as a matter of fact! [msntongue] - and struggled to find costs but I remember thinking it had cost the equilivant of £5 each for all we could eat and all we could drink!
There were also chicken wings and pasta and - possibly (I was on holiday, give me a break) - a salad bar!
Wish I was there now you lucky devils...
Pete
Will be going to the Golden Coral on the 192 on Friday morning. Are they still open for Breakfast on certain days of the week (192 one and not the one on International Drive)?
