Do you mean which is the best to stay or what?
The other name for 192 is West Irlo Bronson Highway.
You can get to I Drive from the 192 but not near EI
Depends what you are looking to do.
Personally I prefer the 192, we have only ever gone through the I4 if you know what I mean, its all a bit tacky and like Blackpool I think and a lot of it needs doing up!!!!!!
Yes I do prefer the Plaza end of Idrive from Sand Lake down to Sea World etc. It is a bit crammed in on the other end of I Drive as it is also on the 192.
Steve & Dawn
Gotcha!!!!!.
I prefer the 192 but I know a lot of people like the Mercado which is I Drive.
Neither of them are anything other than drives to find a good place to eat and they both score well on that.
I prefer 192, as it is not as congested, although the south part of I Drive is not too bad i.e. bahamas Breeze, Cafe Tu Tu Tango, chinses restaurant etc.

Or what about the other part, South International drive? The bit from the 536 down to the 192? The big plush hotel that's down that way does very nice meals. (senior moment here, cannot remember the name of the place)

Did you mean Gaylord Palms? Yes, it is a very plush place. They have the famous Ice Sculptures and are also well known for good Christmas and NYE specials.
We prefer the 192 too, I-Drive isn't quite as good as it used to be.[msnsmile2]
the drive has taken has gone down a bit , but is a better location if you want to leave the car and have a stroll or go for a drink etc. when we've been on the 192 everything seems so distant for want of a better word, easier for Disney tho'
192 every time for me, it may be busy but International drive is so congested it's just a nightmare.
I prefer the 192 as its well spread out and even though the roads get busy, its still at least 3 lanes in each direction.
I'd put more thought into the car I drive than the road I'm on!
we feel that the 192 just beats I Drive as it is closer to all attractions especially Disney (world Drive) [8] On a negative note I think with all the road works on the 192 from Marker 9 up pasted walmart is a real turn off but as soon as that as finished it will be the king;[beer]
I drive is very like blackpool i was let down alot by it....so much hype about it.....
we stayed on 192 and we liked it very much...much closer to disney parks:D
Both ID and 192 offer so much choice!!
No one could really give you a good answer!!
Unless you are not driving, I would visit them both when you are there.

While it is true that I-Drive is beginning to look a bit tacky taken as a whole, there are still places there which are more than worth a visit. For a start, the entir Pointe Orlando entertainment complex with its shops, cinemas, restaurants and nightlife is on I-Drive. The Two Belz malls are beginning to show signs of revival after a slump in recent years, while Festival Bay is worth at least one look. Restaurants like Bahama Breeze and Ming Court come in the 'excellent' category, while I-drive attractions like Wonder Works, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Skull Kingdom, Magical Midway etc still draw crowds.
I think both streets offer a variety of excitement. Just seeing the big Convention Center, Omni, they were made so beautiful!. I really dont care which street I am on as I am in Florida!! And that is the most important factor.
I Drive for everything close together but noisy.
192 loads to see and do but need to drive
H27 quieter end but easy access to either of the above.
It's the 192 for us. We find it less cramped, and the restaurants are cheaper than branches of the same chains on I Drive.
I don't think about going to I Drive or the 192 in particular, I just think about where I fancy eating / drinking etc. Both places have lots to offer. Sometimes a stroll down the I Drive is lovely - and yes it's touristy but IMHO it's quite a few steps up from Blackpool!!
192 for me[msnsmile]
I drive for an afternoon perhaps[?]
ALR
International Drive for things to do. 192 for places to stay, simply because there are no villas on IDrive to rent, or none that I know about anyway.
192 is just more popular because of the villas. Apart from go-karts and Old Town theres nothing much to do on 192 except eat. Nowhere really great to shop either. But when you're on holiday and it's 90 degrees everywhere seems great. In my experience of renting, there's no better location than Champion's Gate - which has quick access to everything.
Arb,
are you familiar with the C/gate area then?
Macka.
It has to be 192 for us also. We did like pointe orlando on ID but its all run down now! There are plans for a rebuild but FAO, Disney and a lot of the bigger shops are now gone[msnsad]! The rebuild looks good! And the Mecardo with Titanic is due a major redevelopment soon also, heard it a vegas type hotel complex with a water park??[8D]
International drive is great for a good nose around!! driving wise!!! i filmed lots of it as we drove along it!!

Could not agree more, it can be an area that is over looked though.
Championsgate is a lovely area, have to say its been along time since we visited I-Drive.[msnsmile2]
Yes, and Champions gate seems to grow in a subtle way every time you return. Think the bank and Walgreens were the newest additions when we were over in October:)
Naw Carol WalGreens has been there for at least 18 months, it was there Xmas before last, the bank opened sometime last spring I think. The latest additon they were building was another Gas Station and 7/11. but it has been 4 weeks since we have bbeen there so they might be building somethign else...hope so:) WIll find out in 6 weeks and it can't come soon enough.

The 192 is a very long road, most of it is fine, and those areas going through upgrading will benefit in the long run, it's just progress that's all.
They are doing a good job of upgrading the 192 and when it is done it will look great I think.

Very.
In all the years I've been going to Disney nothing changes on 192 except the continual roadworks which always look exactly the same and cause the same traffic jams. It is surprising considering the amount of money flooding through there how old fashioned it is.
We first stayed off the 192 in 1998 each year we've been back we have seen more and more improvement. I love the 192, been at different times of the year and never sat in a traffic jam.
Without the 192 would be hard to get to all the communities wouldnt you all agree!
