New Years Eve
We are spending Xmas and the New Year in Florida this year. It is the first time we have been away for Xmas.We have 3 girls 14, 10 and7, any suggestions as to where to spend New years Eve? Also what kind of weather can we expect? The last time we visited Florida we went in August and it was sooo hot. I'm hoping it will still be warm enough for shorts and t-shirts.Thank you Pauline

Hi Pauline why not spend it in one of the theme parks.
Weather is warm in the day but you will need something warm for the evening, as it gets a bit chilly.

I have to say if its your first time, nothing beats Epcot for NewYear, you can have a meal around the lake and then step outside to see the fireworks. although booking early is essential, if you can get in even now, and although it does get rather crowded around the lake for the fireworks, you can have a great view from anywhere around the lake as the fireworks are obviously high in the sky. Be warned though if you want to leave straight away, you will be in a long line of cars attempting to leave at the same time, We have done Epcot twice and tend to leave going out of the part straight away, as you can get some great photos etc while the park empties. Another place to enjoy new years eve is the boardwalk area around the epcot resort hotels. we did this also about two years ago.
Although the days are reasonably warm, be prepared for there could be the occasional cold snap, and yes the evening will be in need of a couple of jumpers. We have loved this season so much this will now be our 9th year out at christmas and new year. Have a great time

Epcot for us too!
You can clebrate New Year twice - once in the area around the Rose and Crown pub where all the Brits gather at 7pm (midnight UK) and also of course at the US midnight.
You would need to go in to Epcot around the middle fo the day to ensure you get in - but of course you can do the usual Epcot things before the celebrations get underway. Also - if you want to eat in one of the restaurants, be sure to book in advance as they will be fully booked on the night.
Have a great time!

We did Epcot last year, and had a great time.
There was a bid open air disco playing all the party type music running all evening which my kids loved.
As Carole says, you do need to get there early, but there is lots to do.

I agree with Carol, Celebration was great last year (and it's free). Whilst it's true trhat the parks are terrific they can be so busy that some of the pleasure is lost. At Celebration there were 2 or 3 live bands through the evening (and of course snow) and lots of food stalls as well as the shops being open and a train to take you round to view the houses decorations.
MGM (Hollywood studios) was good last time we were there a few years ago and they gave out hats and noise makers at around 11 to add to the atmosphere. I think its just because the parks are there all year but the Celebration ones are only for special occasions that it makes it seem a bit different.

No offence, but this would be my idea of hell!
We have done MK for New Years (CHAOS!!! but you only live once). Celebration was really nice, though. If you want to eat, though, you would need to book yesterday.
