Thanks for the support everybody. I will write everything down and go from there. I know what I'm doing wrong
its just stopping myself doing it I am so weak willed :(
I'm sure that once I start seeing a difference I will be spurred on. I look at all the lovely clothes and think no
point in buying them I will look awful in them. Maybe it would be a good option to buy my wedding outfit now
and keep trying it on as you say Karen but not altogether convinced that it will work for me, anything is worth a try though.
Good luck to you all on your weight loss journeys this year :)

Well thrilled with my weigh in yesterday - lost 1.5lbs. Still feeling motivated to get back to my target weight so will hopefully lose some more next week……or it just may slow down and that will be a spanner in the works!!!

Hello ladies, haven't been around for a while following a difficult few months:(
This time last year I was just starting the 5:2 and found it really easy, by June I had lost almost 2.5 stone, that was before things started to get difficult, first my FIL was very ill and living 24/7 at the hospital took its toll, not too bad but I hadn't really got back in to things before we had our main summer holiday, too many nice things to eat and drink! My husband suddenly decided he liked ice cream, I've never had so many Ben and Jerry's or Hershey's ice cream on holiday [msnembarrased] The next few weeks I spent doing the 350 mile round trip to take my turn in caring for my housebound mum so didn't really get to grips with the plan at all and the pounds were definitely starting to creep on, finally a trip to Florida in Nov and the death of my wonderful mum whilst we were there was all that was required to tip me over the edge into gluttony!
Today, no more excuses I am back on the plan and the bright note is that I am still over a stone lighter than I was this time last year. The wedding I originally wanted to lose weight for is only 3 weeks away and my dress is tight, thank goodness for suck you in underwear and the reserve dress I have just in case!
good luck to everyone with their new year weight loss.

Sorry to hear your news Liz and hope you are okay.
On a positive note you are a stone lighter than the same time last year and having done it before, you know you can achieve it. Hopefully you will fit into your outfit with 3 weeks to go, but at least you have a spare but don't even think about the spare one!!!
Good luck and I am sure we look forward to your progress.

Thanks Sandra.
I have just re read the last 12 months of this thread and it has given me some inspiration and determination. Hopefully I will be back on Monday to report a weight loss!

Weigh in tomorrow morning!!! I usually weigh on my scales each day and have not done this past few days. I don't feel as though I lost anything but really hope I have not had a gain.
Progress report sometime tomorrow!!!

Good luck Sandra.
i am feeling very motivated at the moment. Sticking to 5:2 as I know it works for me but on my 500 cal days using SW Super-speed foods to encourage the weight loss. Two fast days under my belt without too much trouble and weigh in on Monday.

So pleased with myself. I only lost 0.5lb but I ended up being Slimmer of the Week and a huge bag of fresh fruit came my way. Although some people lost 5lbs etc., it is the % that counts so there was no one more shocked than me that the calculations made me SoftheW!!!! I think I now have 5lbs to lose to get within my target again so expect it may take me a good few weeks after losing 8.5 in 2 weeks!!! If it comes off at 0.5 lbs per week that takes me through to end of April…and then I am off to Florida for a month. Eeek.
Good luck Pam with your weigh in tonight and hope you have a great result from your week 1. Hope Monday will show a good result for you Liz.

Wow Sandra 8.5lbs in 2 weeks is fantastic, if I lose half that in 2 weeks 8 will be a happy bunny!
good luck with your weigh in Pam, I need lots of lovely people on here losing weight as their stories keep me motivated!

I have put on far too much weight over last couple of years and need to do something about it. Unfortunately with the constant headaches I am having it is very difficult to get motivated then have had a cancer scare over Christmas about which I am still waiting for results. Once this has been sorted out I shall be doing something about it, either the 5:2 or back to SW. Will just have to keep reading all this to get the motivation.
