Sorry, I still havnt had chance to catch up on this thread from 2nd August when we went to Florida, so I am way behind. I know that Mizzy and Julie were also going away so will have to catch up soon to see any piccies or trip reports. I will at some point post a trip report too but it is finding the time.
I am pretty pleased that I only put on 4lbs while away, which is very good for me. I have eaten very badly for the whole two weeks so I only have myself to blame. Must try hard for the next few weeks to lose those 4lbs and then some.
We are going to pick up our new puppy tomorrow so have been trying to tidy away anything that is chewable including the spaghetti junction of wires, that seem to be essential, behind the tv in the lounge. What happened to the days when there was just one wire leading from the tv to the plug socket and then one other arial lead? We seem to have hundreds of scart leads etc. etc. etc.!!!
I will post some piccies of her (Lily) as soon as I have the time and eventually may get organised enough to do a trip report of Florida hols.
Well done to those that deserve it and hard luck to those who dont (ie ME!)

Karen, how lovely to be picking up your new puppy, do have fun with here. What kind is she. It seems ages ago since we collected Tansy, but she was already five months old when we got her. She had not been allowed to be a puppy so we had all the fun of a puppy and the anguish of training her, she had never been outside and had no idea what not to do inside, if you know what I mean:D:D
Have a good day all.
Sally, have a good trip up north, hope the weather keeps fine for the drive.

Karen don't beat yourself about your weight gain, we're all entitled to have a good holiday, even if we know we have to pay for it later!
How wonderful to be collecting a new puppy - they are such fun at that age, and you will soon be getting lots of exercise!
Off out with the hounds - no I didn't avoid the rain Mizzy yesterday, and guess what it is pouring now, just because I got up and washed my hair!
Might not be on until tomorrow evening now as off to the Stones concert this afternoon (yes with lots of goodies in a picnic! - but a few good things too!) Seen them many times before, and I agree no longer at their best but still very entertaining. To be honest we wouldn't have bothered but YD was desperate to see them, so it is a treat for her and a birthday treat for my brother - we have seen them together in the 80s, 90s & now the 00s, and I think this will be the last time! Also tomorrow will be at the hospital for some time, so have a good day peeps, and if you can't be good, be careful!

Karen like Fiona says don't worry about a holiday weight gain just get back on track and it will come off asap[msnwink] A puppy how cute[msnwink]

good morning everyone
Karen i totally agree with Fiona and Julie, the weight gain is only temporary so don't dwell on it, i managed to put 3.5lbs on in a week [msnembarrased] so 4lbs over the fortnight is really good going i would say, you'll have to post some puppy pictures for us[msnsmile]
Fiona, enjoy your concert
now i didn't know Sally was going away, wherever you're going Sally have a great time, the weather here up north is sunny with a cool breeze and hopefully the rain of last week will stay away for the next 3-4 days
Julie, come on now be a good girl and eat your lunch, i know it's hard with everyone else demanding your time but it has been know for people who don't eat to gain, body going into famine mode etc[grouphug]
have a good day everyone, i'm planning on having a great one!
weigh in tommorow[msnscared]

Hi Karen, I hope you had a great holiday.
Julie the lady behind the counter is right, you do look great.
Mizzy, on your menu you have quorn chilly, is this the alternative to meat version?
Yesterday's diary
Bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, poached egg for breakfast.
Lunch 2 bananas.
Evening meal, Salmon, lettice, onion, Boiled egg and fat free dressing.
Today's diary original
Banana for Breakfast
Lunch, chicken, cauliflower, swede, broccoli, carrots and Orange.
Not sure whether I will beable to fit in anymore after all that.
Have a great day everyone.

yes Janice the quorn chilli is an alternative to meat, if i used minced beef i would have to measure the amount on a green day so i used quorn mince instead
it's very simple to make, i'm a very lazy cook so the quicker the better for me
this is how i made it
fry 1/2 diced onion and quorn mince until lightly browned, add 1/2 tin kidney beans , 1/2 jar passata and chilli powder to taste, simmer for a further 15-20 mins
it takes about 25 mins start to finish and is totally free on a green day
don't fancy the quorn mince how about a huge vegetable one
passata is one of my basic stock ingrediants to many a sauce, you can make a cottage pie, curry, chilli, meatball sauce and lots and lots with it, whatever you fancy really just add some herbs and spices and you're away[msnwink]
fry light is another great stock item too, it's free on both plans so you can fry eggs, homemade burgers, SW chips and make roasties, lots of uses for it really
looking at your lunch Janice you could have had a yorkshire pud 4 syns or some gravy for 1.5syns and maybe used your healthy b and had some dry roasted poatoes
and i noticed sat's menu is missing your 2 healthy b choices too, for example you could have added some toast or beans to that brekkie and some new potatoes or cooked pasta to that salad also don't forget to use those syns, not using them will not make you lose the weight any quicker, i know because i weigh people every week and the ones who struggle are always those who are eating very little and not having any syns
Mizzy
ps as a rule of thumb with this slimming world plan Janice, if you're hungry then you're not doing it properly[msnwink] hope this helps[msnsmile]
-
Hi Mizzy, thanks for all your advice. I bought fresh pasta for tomorrow and will buy the quorn meat and add tomatoes, onion and garlic to cook the meat in to make a spagetti bolognese. I must admit, I like a glass of wine at the weekend and have been using my syns for that[msnoo]. I was speaking to a lady in Tesco yesterday and she said the Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages are nice. Are these free on a green day?
Your chilli quorn sounds great, I will have to give it a try.
Sorry for all the questions but are you a Consultant for SW?
Janice.
-
no Janice, i'm not a slimming world consultant but i do pretty much know the plan inside and out
i lost weight with SW over two years ago (2.5stone) and then got complacement and with my sons diagnosis i comfort ate and put it back on plus another stone on top
i'd stay well away from linda mccartney foods they have very high syn counts
quorn sausages are free on both red and green, i quite like the sweet chilli ones at the minute
and asda do a low cal wine which is 2.5syns per std glass [msnsmile2]
have you checked out the website Janice you can look up syns , keep a graph of your weight and there are loads of recipes on there, this weeks password for members only area is "bread"

Hi everyone,
still think the best way to loose weight is to have a brace fitted:D They might as well wired my mouth together, eating is like chewing on razor blades. I hope it gets better soon[msnsad]
Mizzy your quorn chilli sound nice, have never tried quorn before, so might give this a go when I am feeling better. Unfortunatley I am a bit of a red meat eater, I just love a juicy steak.
Fiona hope the concert goes well.
