I didn't want to enter this thread, was to depressed. I am not REALLY overweight, but when I look at photos now, my tummy bulges over when I sit down. Have been on the same diet as my other half, we is on the aitkens diet and has lost 3 STONE, where am I going wrong? I have started a trampolining class, great FUN, I walk the kids to school every day, I have even started taking golf lessons, to keep the walking going.I don't snack on food I don't eat biscuits or cakes, although I love the odd Thorntons chocies. I do like a drink with my evening meal.
One annoying thing that really bothers me, is buying new clothes. for example when you try on a 12 size skirt and you find it too small so you go for the next size up, because you say it must be the cut and manufacture of the skirt I am always a 12, then you find you start buying more 14 sizes and the next time you try on the 12 you haven't worn in a while, WHOOAA, it won't go anywhere near you.
When does it happen that the 12's no longer fit?
mine stopped when i was 16!!!!!!!!! and earning my own money to buy my own clothes!!!!, but now theyre double and some from that[msncry]

So Ceri are you joining us??
First thing is up your heart rate, walking kids to school is great but no where near enough if you want to see results!
Second DON"T DO ATKINS!!! Its so bad for you and it takes your body around six months to repair the damage done by Atkins - my husband and I know from first hand experience.
Im a size 14 aiming to be a 12/10, but to do that you need to take REGULAR FORMAL EXERCISE, eat a balanced diet, aim for fresh foods, cut out bread and pasta by all means but get some fruits and veg in you for carbs.
Third, take each small step at a time - they add up to big steps which equal big changes, be fit for life not fat for life.
P.S You will live longer too[msnwink]
Hi Lucy
I have deceide I need the support of fellow members. I don't care how much I weigh, I think I weigh 10 stone something I haven't been on the scales for over 6 months. I just want to be able to fit in my skirts again.
A couple of years ago I had my belly button pierced because I achieved a nice size in my skirts and shorts, now I feel like a jelly again.
i don't totally do the aitkins diet, I have just cut out potatoe and pasta I then double the helping of fresh veg. I limit myself to one chinese take-away to about once a fortnight.
I used to do a regular exercise class once a week as well until my friend moved further away and now we find it difficult to get together. I am going to try and do more in the gym as I have a membership to any of the local leisure centres, but I find it difficult to get in there, my kids to a gymnastics class twice a week but I end up doing the shopping at the time as thats the only time i get to do it.
I do really enjoy trampolining and I worked really hard on Friday must have burned off quite a few calories then.
Its taking the time to do more, How do you fit it in. The only time left is about a hour or two before bed, and I am too bushed to go out in the dark on my own then.
i would have loved to do trampoling i loved it years ago and i know i would love it now!!!!!![msnwink]
Ceri
You have to be disciplined and find a window in your diary when you can go to the gym - routine is the answer (although this can get monotonous).
Be firm with yourself and do not let any old excuse get to you!!
Saying that I have not been training since Sunday due to an injury (wrong running shoes I have been told) But really I could have gone and did weights and gentle exercise. So naughty girl Michele!!![msnmad][msnmad][msnmad]
I have 1 week to lose 1 stone before hols[msncry][msncry][msncry]Seriously though you should go on how you look/feel and how your clothes fit you!!
I have not lost hardly anything but feel loads better:D:D
Keep it up girls
Michele
