Thanks for the welcome all!
I somehow feel more motivated today-think it's a combination of support and the fact that my holiday is getting nearer and it's good to have something specific to aim for. LeisaAnna-it's an eternal conflict for me-if I ate the food I'd like to, I'd put on weight sooo easily! It just shows when after say, 2 weeks of not taking care over Christmas or when I'm on holiday, a half stone just seems to spring up from nowhere! When I'm at my normal weight,I eat very healthily during the week but treat myself on Fridays and Saturdays and this seems to work mostly. I might have, say, cake, chocs or ice cream etc on these days, maybe a takeaway. The rest of the time it's a pain, but for me it beats the alternative of being bigger than I'm happy with. Although it's the weekend now, I'm afraid I'm being really good and hoping to drop the last few pounds(whilst dreaming of Olive Gardens etc in three weeks time[msnwink]!)

Well done Michele!!
I have just done 65 mins on the treadmill doing intervals 3 min run/2 min powerwalk, I was watching Place in the Sun programmes on Travel and Living channel so it was easy.
I have noticed a bit difference since I have stepped up the running.
Come on girls/Trevlad keep it up we can do this[grouphug]

Been to gym
Walked 30 mins on treadmill as I hurt my knee yesterday
10 mins bike
5 mins on the "arm bike2 not sure what it is called
5 mins on stepper but had to stop due to knee.
Few sit-ups then a lovely jaccuzzi (there are 7 types) made sure it massaged the old knee and it feels much better.
I am trying to go tomorrow as well, even if I cannot run I will do cross-trainer or something else.
well done everyone else especially Lucy, as for you Daisy (Karen) you are doing well to. Slowly build up the tread mill it does become easier - just remember to stretch (I didn't!! Doh[msnembarrased][msnembarrased][msnembarrased])
come on girls another week starts[grouphug][grouphug]

Daisy - I have built up to 60 mins on the treadmill gradually since the begining of Jan (again as I do this every year, but this year Im sticking to it!) I started by doing a 20 min walk then increased it by adding a gradient, then increasing the pace, then started increase the time. When I got to power walking uphill for 45-60 mins I started do intervals (run for 1 min, walk for 1 min) gradually increasing the running until you run for 3-4 mins and walk for 1 min, then as I have done today I RAN FOR 60 MINS Yippee!!! Only stopped for a wee midway.
Now my plan is to increase the speed gradually, I use a heart rate monitor to make sure Im exercise in the correct zone.

Sally - like the new avatar but it did confuse me for a while - nearly as much as Lucy's name change [msnwink] [msnwink]
Reading about all this exercise has worn me out [msnwink] But I'll be there at the gym tommorrow night - am going to try and up my treadmill time a bit each week.
Welcome aiminghigh - you'll get lots of good tips and support from everyone here - we all encourage each other to carry on and not get downhearted when the pounds aren't coming off as quickly as we would like. I'm at that stage now where I am trying to lose a final half stone to get to my ideal weight - altho realistically I think another 4 or 5 pound loss is the best I can hope for now.......
Here's to a good week for all of us [grouphug]
