We always go to the Golden Corral. As someone else said, it really is cheap and cheerful, and because it's so big and busy, it can be a little noisy. Having said all that, you can't beat it for variety. I think when we were there in December the range of food was even more vast than in July. Also, a bit more expensive, but quieter, is the Las Vegas Buffet - go along the 192 west, and it is just after the junction with SR 535, just on the right. Ponderosa is just OK, but I really don't care for Western Sizzlin, poor variety, poor everything really. Chloe

Chloe - what was the food like at Las Vegas Buffet??
Often fancied trying it but never got in there - it's always looked empty when we've passed.

Las Vegas buffet is a mix of Oriental and British and American food. The quality is really good, they usually have at least one roast joint, the Chinese is great and the price also includes the dessert, including the ice cream machine. Very clean and tidy looking restaurant.

Sounds good, thanks Blott.
Perhaps this time we will make it inside [msntongue]

Hi, Julie, Las Vegas Buffet is just as Blott says, I would say it is worth a visit. If there is anything I would gripe about it is the desserts - not really a big choice, but O.K. It's probably a blessing really! Chloe

on a lot of the buffets -the deserts let them down.
But Boma is one of the best-nice deserts too.
O'hanas was pretty good-but at $25 -I think they could have included deserts.
My daughter won't go near the place-for when they bring round the BBQ'd meats the prawns are next to the steak on the skewers-and she hates fish.
Sweet Tomatoes-gets a big thumbs up for us-it's on the junction of Kirkman rd and IDrive.
We thought the breakfast at the Grand Floridian -was ok-not as good as the Boma. The characters worked their socks off-but yes the staff that morning seemed to have left their charm at home.

Took the forum advice and tried Las Vegas Buffet this evening... was surprised by the choice and the food was very good. Kids loved the jelly and ice cream so that can't be bad.
Happy hour between 5-6.30pm Adult $10.99 Kids $6.99 +drinks (free refills $1.29).. Normally $12.99 and $8.99 I think
We have twin girls who are four and the lady on the desk said 'how old ?' ... '4' I reply... 'they only look 3' say she 'and that will only be $1.99'... [clap]
Well worth a visit for a change of scenary. We went to the one on 192 about 200 yards up from Poinciana Bvld heading West
Nearly forgot... they had 4 roast... Beef,Pork, Turkey and Ham

Tried the Italian Buffet meal tonight... the name of the restaurant slips my mind for now but is on the junction of the 192 and Poinciana. Big neon sign that says Italian Buffet
Anyway, having sampled the Las Vegas Buffet a few nights ago something looked familiar... namely the hostess serving us... then I remebered... she served us at the Las Vegas... anyway as we have twin girls she remebered us too... turns out the same guy owns both restaurants.
So whereas the Las Vegas has an Oriental side to the menu this one has an Italian side ! Food was good, albeit sweets weren't brilliant and they had an American choice also like the Las Vegas...nice salad bar and fruit choice. Adults $10.99 Kids $6.99 plus drinks extra.
Worth a visit ? Yes if you want lots of pasta and meat sauces in a buffet

As a native Floridian I would say really that some of the worst buffets and diners are along the 192. If you are traveling all the way to Florida, I would suggest that you actually venture further afield to try the food. Better quality and pricing.

Tend to go for the Sizzler $5 special eat til you drop.
I tend to get fed up of the meat option (pilled to the cealing) after a few days and go onto the other huge selection. Ideal if you want to feed the family for cheap.:D
