Sorry to hear that Pamela - it is harder the older you get, Alan has just turned 50 [msnsad] What business is your husband in?

He is in telecom (sales) Frances. Although he would like to do something different if possible. I think he's finding it hard to get motivated to find something.

I hope he finds something really soon, sometimes it can be the push needed to try your hand at something else but the big question is always 'what' especially when you have been in one field for a long time!

Keep your spirits up Pamela and Frances. Many firms prefer more mature workers as they have far more experience and that vital ingredient that can be lacking in young people, common sense. I am sure they have many qualities that can be promoted to employers who often prefer the stability and commitment that comes with age.[grouphug]

Pam and Frances my hubby is 50+ and is a consultant self employed so I wonder if that's an option for either of them? We also deal a lot in recruitment and the biggest tip I would give is for them to get their CV's on monster.co.uk as all recruiters look at monster constantly[msnwink]

Sorry to hear your new Frances and just hope something better is around the corner. For you also Pam. Personally I think the more mature employees are much more caring about their jobs than the youngsters.
Mizzy, sorry your hand has turned out to be so bad.
Just got back from the dentist where I had a crown removed, a filling and a new crown on order. Let's hope the temporary one does not fall out when I am at one of my functions.[msnwink]
I bought a pair of super duper scales yesterday like the ones I have at our villa. I managed to lose 1 lb since I weighed with them. Here's hoping I stay on track, but have done for 4 days now.
Good luck with your weigh in's for those at the beginning og the week. Mine will be Thursday.

I'll get him to do that Julie. We might think about consutancy too.
-
Thank you Julie we will get his CV on there straight away. He has thought about consultancy, in fact he has got a chance of something like that at our local county council, so fingers crossed for that. He also has a few other ideas of self employed businesses so I'm sure something will come up soon [msnsmile2].
Food today not good as I had an accident this morning (drove into the back of somebody!) so that shook me up a bit and haven't felt like eating.
Mix 2 match
few grapes
2 chicken legs
small portion of 5 bean chilli with rice.
Good luck to anybody weighing in today.
