We have been in Florida just 5 weeks and plucked up enough courage to step on the scales .I have lost 6lb,.total weight loss stands at 4st-3lbs could be a slight difference in the weight due to using different scales. But nevertheless I am stiill losing which was a concern there is far more tempation here than at home.
.
Pleased to say I did not put on any weight over Christmas which is a good thing as will need a new dress for our son's wedding which is in the middle of March I only have another 2lbs to go until I reach my goal weight. Then the hard part starts - not to put it back on again
I think I will be joining you all on Wed 2nd Jan I was diagnosed with diabetes in Jan 12 and have lost 3 stone 2lb over the last year, but have fallen off the wagon over Christmas!!! I will pull myself together and climb back on that wagon!!!
I think I am more relieved than pleased Sandra. I thought I had lost but you never know if your mind is playing tricks until you get on the scales.
The biggest tempation at the moment is to not buy anymore new clothes
I still have a way to go, I want to wait until I reach my goal before I buy a complete new wardrobe.Although I am buyimg a few items along the way
My diet went a bit off track - didn't touch the mince pies, xmas pud etc but too much champagne and cheese - especially as our son got engaged! Entertained or dined every night as MIL went away for a week so had the house to ourselves to invite friends around etc. Last meal out tonight - just going to weigh in - I think it will be 3lbs on :(
Ladies - have only just got round to reading this thread and have read the last couple of pages - do I gather that you are mostly following the Slimming World plan?
With regard to Big Momma who has been diagnosed with diabetes I have a sister (mid-50's) who was diagnosed when she was ~ 37 and was always a 'big girl'. Weight went on and on and she admitted to being on the upper level of 19 stone. Joined Slimming World, lost 5 stone over the best part of a year and apparently is no longer diabetic, I never thought one could be 'cured' but apparently it is so.
This of course has helped her with regard to travel insurance but she misses the free prescriptions, eye tests etc etc - no pleasing some people.
I wish all of you the best with your supreme efforts - at the age of 13 I was described by our family GP as 'somone out of Belsen' - we are all different shapes and sizes - and I am no longer skin and bone.
Yes I know it will help to keep on! And I will!!! Have booked next trip to Florida, so my aim is 2 stone by November which is manageable- I hope!! I have yet to renew travel insurance, hopefully it won't send it too high!
