We usually find if we leave it it will go down, if we buy it will go up! :(
well we got ours today at over 2 $ to the pound in going places falkirk [msnsmile2][msnwink]
We changed some today and got $2 to the £1 in Hull. Just need to book a holiday now and hit those malls and outlets.[msnwink]
I started this thread 18 months ago when $1.82 was seen as a great opportunity to exchange your holiday pounds. Today the rate has reached no less than 25 cents higher than that!! The long-awaited £1/$2 rate would now seem a poor exchange.
I suppose it's not great news for some but I reckon that, in real terms, things are the best value they've been in all the years I've been visiting the US.
Surely I'm not the only one who gets hit the wrong way with this? Anyone selling a property and bringing the money home has got to be hurting a little?
I've got a hefty transaction to do early in the new year and the difference between rates when this thread started and now is a really serious chunk of money. It'll be cheap when we get there in December for the holiday, but I'd rather have it the other way round, I'm afraid!
bought some dollars today from First Chioce $2.01 to the pound
Does anyone have any idea how to find out how much I will get on using my Nationwide debit card ?
Linda, it changes every time you use it almost, well certainly every day. It IS the best in our experience, I would not fear using it at all personally, and the "Wallet" , does love a good deal [msnwink]
Linda it is usually as near to the day's business rate as it can be. In other words the best rate you can possibly get[msnwink]
We have used our Nationwide card for the past few years now and no matter what country we are in it always give a great rate.
