chrysler 300

We hired one of these when we went to California in April, bags of room for 2 adults and 2 teens.
Even drove it down Lombard Street in San Fran .

Now I am really confused[msneek] What do I go for? We definetely want the Chrysler 300, didn't realise there was more than one[msnscared][msnoo]

Don't worry about it Jovi, I've had three now, just get it when you get there, there, won't be a choice, and you won't be disappointed.

I had 4 adults, four hard cases, 4 wheelie flight bags and assorted duty free and a small shop from publix in mine. Admittedly one case and most of the shopping was in the back seats with Mrs. and Mummy Macka, but we did it.[msnscared]

Went to have a look at one of these today at our local Chrysler garage[:O] Wow they are big, hubby would like one as the family car I am not sure, so having one in Florida will make my mind up either way.
At the moment I drive our 4 wheel drive car ( Hyundai Terracan ) I like the height of the driver seat, in the Chrysler the seats seem that low I can just see over the bonnet, and it is a huge bonnet.
They are a very nice looking car and thankfully the boot is enormous, so I think this will be our car in Florida anyway, as for when we get home we shall see[msnwink].

Sorry, but that's not correct. The 300 may well shut down half its cylinders when not required, but that's not the definition of a Hemi. Hemi doesn't stand for 'half', as you might be suggesting.

Hemi (from "hemisphere") or "crossflow cylinder head" is a design of internal-combustion engine in which the cylinder head's combustion chamber is of hemispherical form. The term, "Hemi engine" is a trademark of Chrysler Corporation, though the concept is used by many manufacturers.

The hemispherical cylinder head increases the engine's efficiency through reduced thermal energy loss and increased airflow through the engine (a hemisphere has the lowest surface area to volume ratio, meaning the most space for combustion while losing the least amount of energy to the engine walls). Drawbacks such as increased production cost have meant that it has been a rare design. Placing the intake on the opposite side of the engine also reduces the air intake temperature and increases efficiency.

Chrysler have been making Hemi engines since the 1950s. Porsche and BMW are also notable users of the hemi design.

not all "crossflow engines" are hemis,infact most are not.jaguar were using a hemi engine in the 40's just before chrysler used them.

Beautiful car to drive, plenty of power...if a shade heavy on the gas consumption!.....but there again at $2.80 (£1.50!!) or so per gallon, who's counting [msnsmile2][msncool]
