I tried to find a number for the shop/store Nostromo but can not find it listed (might have been 'Made in America'). If you follow the A4 bypass round Chippenham, go over river take A420 north, over (or is it under) railway then the B4069 right to Lyneham and I think the Hathaway retail park is on the corner where the old High Street comes up to meet the Lyneham road. We only found it by accident because there is a Home Base or DIY store there.
Let me know if you find it.

That's very interesting cos I did not even know that there was a Taco-Bell in the UK (Something that I have always felt should be corrected). What other shops are there and are they open to the general public or does one have to be accompanied by USAF personnel?

they have a Taco Bell on both Lakenheath or Mildenhall. The bases are like a mini America. Lots of the service personnel never leave the bases. Lakenheath even has a Golf course. The have a big fast food plaza on Mildenhall next to the Food store. As CDV said, there is Burger King, Baskin Robins etc etc. they have bowling alleys, cinema, restaurants, bars.
You have to accompanied by someone with an ID card. This does not have to be a US service person and their family. There are loads of civilians, both British and US who work on the bases. Since 9/11 security has become much much tighter, although it still only takes about 10 mins to complete the documentation. They built a really nice visitor complex at Mildenhall that opened in about July 2001. Unfortunately it hasn't been used since 9/11 because it is right by the accomodation area. The entrance is now right at the end of the runway and you have to driver past a couple of Humvee's with heavy MG's on top to get on base.
They also used to hold the largest air display in Europe until 2001. Since then it has been cancelled for various reasons. All the different units set up BBQ's and competed to sell the best. It was certainly an amazing weekend with about 250,000 visitors over the weekend.

Martin, the outlet on that link is selling A&W Root Beer and Mountain Dew, but I don't think IBC Rootbeer is available in the UK, unless in those US Airbase shops.

Not sure if it covers all the products you may need, but try www.expatessentials.co.uk
