Last year there were several storms on the 5 day forecast that looked as though they were going to hit Miami and each time we worried and our son got cross as only once was the surf up and not one storm came anywhere near enough to cause anyone to have to get in supplies or take any precautions whatsoever.
Each year there are these storms as it is hurricane season in this region but the last time Florida was so badly hit was over 50 years so this year is just a freak year.
English people discuss the weather all year round at home so why not have a 'holiday' from worrying about the weather and spend the time enjoying your holiday.

Hi Tyson
Yes this is hurricane season, Yes this is the worst year we have had for forty years, Yes a lot of distruction has happened and some have died. FORTY YEARS IS A LONG TIME AGO. Here in the UK we have put up with a lot from the weather, Florida is used to hot humid weather, so when a tropical storm or hurricane comes 50 to 140mph winds are very different, in our wweather climate it a breeze.
I was out there when Charley hit us, I went to Universal that morning, Park was still open til 2.00pm had a brillant time, no queues although there was still a couple of thousand people there, Storm came about 8.00pm it was about the same as a bad winter in the UK only we had double glazing.
Enjoy the holiday, hopefully just get wet on the rides, but if the rain and storm does come, get I t-shirt I survived (IVAN/JEANNE/WHATEVER)
At least you will have some stories to tell back home.
