Good morning all, what a lot of chatter has gone on this morning, I have a job keeping up with it all.
Went off to do the shopping in Chichester this morning and got caught in a traffic jam this morning just after the last turn off for 8 miles. Had to sit for 40 minutes so by the time I got to do the shopping was thoroughly fed up. Nearly bought a large bar of chocolate but resisted and had an apple instead. Going to spend a hour catching up on paper work then going for a long walk on the beach with the dog, it should be lovely down there.
Food diary for today
Cereal with fruit for breakfast.
Apple mid morning
Quorn sausage and tomato sandwich made with 3 slices of WW brown danish and strawberries for lunch
Muller light yoghurt mid afternoon
Trout cooked on the BBQ with new pototoes and salad and pineapple for supper.
G & T while the trout cooks and glass of wine - well it is Friday night.
Have had to forget about the potatoes as I have already had 2 HCs today
When it comes to syn values I note that it does depend on where you buy things from. I bought minted lamb shanks from Somerfield yesterday - 2 syns, but Sally bought them from Aldi - 0 syns. I expect the coleslaw is the same. No wonder shopping takes so long these days - having to check these syn values the whole time. Just as well most fruit and veg is syn free.

Hi Sharon
vanilla muller is free , see my earlier post (yesterday) about the cake, pie and custard ones because they are all syns
what colour day where you on yesterday? because it looks like you had a syn free "red" lunch (using the bread as healthy B's) but dont know about your tea the spaghetti would be free on green and if you used quorn mince then that would be free too, but if you used mince beef then that would have to be counted as syns or a weighed amount as another B
for your gin 25ml= 2.5syns and 35ml =4 syns and i'm assuming the tonic is diet so no need to count
Julie forgot to mention earlier sweetcorn (all types) free on green, and whole baby sweetcon free on red too similar to peas all types are free on the green and the mange-tout are free on red

Karen just seen we must have been posting at the same time! If you like a hot curry buy the Pataks madras paste - and then use with whatever you want.
Fry onions, add meat & brown, add tin of tomatoes cook for 20/30 mins or so. This is quite hot btw!
Mizzy have you got a blue SW book? Just our group leader was saying the values of some foods are different in the new purple one[msneek]!
-
Just to add to the bread debate my book is the blue book same as Mizzys and it says wholemeal bread 1 slice weighing 57g = 1 hc b[msnwink] so I would only have 1 slice - I get my bread freshly baked from Sainsburys every morning and its so yummy[msnsmile2]
I have been studing the books more closely and my cottage cheese although VERY low fat is still 0.5 syns for 100g because it has pineapple in it[msnwink] So for a 250g tub its 1.5 syns[msnwink]
I am also really enjoying the cake varieties of the muller lites but again as Mizzy says they are not free and are either 1 syn ot 0.5 syns, I don't normally like to eat anything with artificial sweetner in it as its so unhealthy but I am making an exception with these[msnwink][msnwink]

I have the same book as Karen.
I always look everything up in my food directory as Jill says different shops have different sin values.
Asda Good for you coleslaw 100g 1 sin
Sainsbury reduced fat coleslaw 100g 2.5 sins
Morrisons better for you 100g 2 sins
That must be why it takes me so bl***y long to do my shopping, I look everything up.
Well done to Les, Pauls and Jill for your loss, hope I haven't forgotten anyone[msnembarrased]

with the bread it's like this
1 slice from a 800g loaf OR 2 slices from a 400g loaf = 1 Healthy Extra
some of the lower calorie bread like nimble etc you get 3 slices but it tastes bl**dy awful
i do have the blue book Fiona and i'm not worried if the syns have changed slightly, i tend to cook from fresh and usually check syns online rather than the back of the book, the quorn is ok Fiona but it doesn't taste of anything so you have to add the flavour to it
the newer book is a purple/brown colour and has a lovely pic of chocolate pudding on the back
Julie Lemon cheesecake mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm my favourite[msntongue]
well i've had toast and jam for brekkie for a change[msnwink] and i had a huge baked potato with chilli beans for lunch followed by a muller yoghurt and i'm having quorn teriyaki stir fry for tea with some mini chocolate highlight biscuits for supper [angel]

hi just checking in for the night
i've had a good day, my tea was lovely it was quorn teriyaki stir fry with noodles, i used asdas own teriyaki sauce and it's 2.5syns for 1/3rd of a jar
my total syns for today are 9[angel](jam, yoghurt, stir fry sauce and highlights biscuits)
i've a big party to go to tommorow night, it's going to be pretty much healthy food with a few tempting luxuries thrown in and i'm off to the hairdressers in the afternoon to get my strawberry blonde restored to it's natural glory[msnwink] and to totally spoil myself i'm gonna have a manicure whilst i'm in there[msnsmile2]
well ladies the world cup has started and i've already become a football widow [gun] my darling husband has informed me that it's only every 4 years and i should get into the spirit of things and sit and enjoy it with him, in other words let him drink his beer in peace, watch the footie and don't interupt with stupid questions[msneek]
has anyone else joined the world cup widow ranks yet or do you all have sane husbands?
