good evening all, first chance to check-in today and write something.
It sounds as if you had a good day, look forward to reading all about it.
I had a dreadful morning, took me 2 hours to get to Chichester, it normally takes me 20 minutes. I had visions of the car overheating as we are having radiator problems at the moment but fortunately it just held out. By the time I had my shopping and got home it was nearly 2pm and I was thoroughly fed up. DH was out sailing so I then had to take the dog out for her walk when all I wanted to do was collapse in a heap and watch Wimbledon.
Menue for today
Cereal and fruit
Remainder of frittata and tomatoes and lots of fruit
Chicken and tarragon one pot with extra veg then fresh fruit.
Will check in to read the reports later.

Hiya girls, gosh it's hard keeping up with all these posts! Great pics Julie and looking forward to the trip report.
Well done to all those who have lost weight, Liesa I know how hard it is for you so well done, Alison keep on going, if you want chocolate every day allow some into your menu plan. Small packet of buttons perhaps - or something similar.
Not that I can talk! Glorious day here yesterday and day before so have been catching up on the tan, although the rains started last night about 6.30 - along with a spectacular storm. Although DH & I would have preferred just a takeaway or s[bad language filtered out] what food we have in the fridge the gals wanted to hit Millennia again, so off we trailed. Needless to say we following the storm so the I4 was a complete nightmare and I am just pleased by DH was doing the driving and not me as I have kttens when it is like that. Got back so late all starving so had a maccydees. Today (as a reward for all the gardening he has done, plus replacing the pool light - that took forever it was so fiddly - and sorting out the dryer which wasn't working properly) I let him have the morning golfing with a few people he has met up with out here. I dropped DH off at 7.15, got back and spent the next couple of hours trying to get the gals up as they were going to Universal. Finally dropped them off at the crack of midday!! Went back to the golf course where DH and I had lunch. I must say they are fantastic value for money - for $24 we had tuna salad (- fresh tuna mind - absolutely delicious and so much of it couldn't eat it all) and grouper & fries with salad, 1 beer and 1 diet coke. The grouper smelt to tasty (and have to say I pinched a fry which was yum!) that next time I have having that - it comes in a hoagie which neither of us would eat, but he raved about his grouper all through the meal. Am now sitting on the deck - don't feel too jealous though - as it is absolutely persisting it down. All those plants that he has put in that were wilting must be loving it. He configured WI-FI for me so I can sit with the laptop on the deck and check my emails. It goes without saying that all morning I spent in the car was brilliant sunshine!
Anyway we only have 1 more day left[msncry] so just trying to get everything done we wanted to achieve, off to Antonios for supper tomorrow night, and we are catching an 11.30 plane to St Louis on Sunday so will need to be out the house at 9.00am - so we need to say 8.30 as we are not the most organised in the morning nowadays! We are all looking forward to the missouri end of our hols, but also at the moment feel we would rather stay here - I think we must try and organise it in future that we go somwhere else first and then on to our villa.
Have a good weekend all, we have wireless up in Lake Ozark so hopefully will call in from time to time, am going to take loads of pics and will do a trip report! Sky is brightening, will have to get out with the power jet!!

So it was lovely to see olde worlde cute streets and old historic buildings.
What were the cakes...dying to know....and it was great to get a shot of the infamous Bettys!
I recognise the mini pav, but what was the other cake?

well here's sort of a report
for me the journey started with my darling husband dropping me off at the train station about 20 miles from home, this mean't that i could get a direct train without having to change, changing trains was way to scary for me so i took the easier option
i wasn't able to book a first class ticket online but hey i'm a chancer so i walked straight to the front of the train and plonked myself into a first class seat[msnwink] the conductor came around and moved some people who had done exactly the same as me, listening in i heard him say that they had std tickets and couldn't pay extra to stay in first class, so over he comes and i smile sweetly and hand over my cheap day return ticket and explained that online it doesn't allow you to book first class so could i pay the extra please, he said not to worry and that i was perfectly ok to stay where i was with nothing extra to pay[msnsmile2]
so i settled down to a nice read to while away the hours travel
i arrived ontime at 11am and had no trouble at all spotting a rather super slim Julie[msnwink]
walking outside i was explaining to Julie that my dh said it's a 10 min walk to bettys from the train station but i know my fella and his 10 mins are more like 20-30[msneek] the taxi guy said about 10 mins too but after trying to give us directions we saved ourselves the poor stress on our feet and hopped into his cab
i haven't been to york for quite some time but it is a lovely place to visit if a little hard going on your feet, it's all those cobbles!!! honest. Julie easily spotted Carole and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet up with you Carole and i must say another super slim lady[msnwink]
we had a little browse and found the shambles and minster to show Julie as she'd never been to York before, Julie did the typical tourist, camera thing and i think there's a trip going to be planned with her dh and little ones soon
small queue at bettys but just before 12 we where seated and contemplating the menu, there was a 2 mins silence so we halted our flow of chat until that was over, now down to the food, we where all really really good[msneek][msnwink][msnsmile2] chicken salads for Julie and Carole and crostini (for me) with the extra fattening cheese removed and lge cafitere of coffee to share
the desserts trolley[msneek] well Julie has a photo and i would challenge a saint to resist, but we did choose wisely and as you can see by the pics we all refused the offer of cream on top didn't we ladies[clap][clap][clap]
overall with all the chattering away we finally emerged out of bettys at half two 'ish[msnembarrased]
sadly it was all too soon to go our seperate ways and with Carole off in the car and Julie taxi 'ing it to the train station i decided to hit the disney store as i had promised to bring home presents for my children
well i'm very proud to say that i did walk to the train station (15mins in heels) but only because i couldn't find the taxi rank that i'd waved goodbye to Julie from 30 mins earlier[msnembarrased]
train home, first class again[msnwink][msnsmile2] and then met by dh and two rather excited kiddies
all in all i had a wonderful time and made two wonderful friends, can't wait to meet up again and hopefully it'll be more central next time so some more of you can make it[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
suggestions as to where anyone?
Mizzy

Julie, Marie and Carole.......You are all looking lovely, very trim and healthy ladies I must say!!! I'm so sorry I couldn't be there with you all and those cakes look delicious ( in fact I'm drooling now). Anyway, you all deserve them after all the hard work you've put in after all these weeks!! i'm so pleased you had a lovely day and far better than mine I can tell you[msncry][msncry]
I adore York and especially those little side streets. There are some lovely shops, including a lovely little "Radley" handbag shop[msnwink][msnwink]....oh and I know that pub....Roman Bath[msnoo].
Julie...Nice tan!!...not much weight to lose now..looking good
Mizzy....You are looking good lady, you don't look overweight at all now.
Carole.....You must be at your target weigh now!! You look very slim. Well done[clap][clap]
Well, this is the 3rd time I've tried to write as my computer keeps crashing as we have had 3 power cuts in the last 3 hours....nite all

yes Theresa it's the first time we have met up and the cake that both me and Julie had was "swiss engerdine torte" that had layers of meringue with crushed hazlenut and a yogurty /creamy filling[msntongue]
