I have to agree with the B&B approach. We use a place called Jordan's, in Horley, 5 mins from South Terminal.
Again it's about £50 for a double/twin and £15 a week for parking. Very nice to stand on the back lawn early in the morning and watch all the early flights departing, knowing we'll soon be off too!

Well done Carrie, thats one thing organised for you
As I said the Hilton is attached to the south terminal so in the morning you dont have to wake
up at the crack of dawn :)
-
We stay in a family room at the Meridian which is attached to the North terminal. We are there on Thursday night and I always feel our holiday begins there:)
-
just out of interest guys, i have nor rec my plane tickets yet so dont know, but will ibe flying out of gatwick by the north or south terminal?
Thanks
Carrie

Its the south terminal, but if you are staying in a hotel at the north side, their are
buses that bring you to the south every 10 minutes or so, not sure there might even be
that mono rail thing now as well

Thanks as always Chris.
Carrie,

I think you'll find the off airport hotels very comfortable and friendly and most are within about 5 minutes of the airport but best to ring them about arrangements for travel to the airport. The airport hotels are good quality but expensive. I prefer the Hilton to Le Meridian and anyway the Hilton has a linked walkway strait into the south terminal. There is a monorail linking the south and north terminal running every 3 to 5 minutes.
