Halloween!

Disney 'mickeys not so scary halloween party' is excellnt but not scary. Tickets do sell out so order asap.
Universals is also good and more for adults. Lots chainsaws and walk through stuff.
Trick or Treat arond the subdivisions is great. We go the hole hog with fog machine and scary cds playing out front.

Tickets can be booked online at www.disney.com (click on vacations, then Walt Disney World, then search on Mickey's not so scary halloween party. (sorry I tried and failed to insert a link)

This year Universal Halloween Horror Nights are being held at Islands of Adventure for the first time ever and we are promised new shows and new haunted houses on all five islands. "Childhood nightmares come to life in Toon Lagoon, lost souls and demons stalk the Lost Continent whilst mutant half dinosaur half humans lurk in Jurassic Park". It is rated PG13 so is supposed to be pretty scary. The tickets just for the Horror Night bought on line are $49. Starts 4th October through to 2nd Nov on most nights ( not all) Weekends are supposed to be busy. I have a thread going on t-f asking whether it is possible to upgrade an existing day pass so that you can stay on for the horror night as we have left over days on a Universal Escape. Dont really want to use that and then pay another $49 on top in the evening. Anyone on here know??'

Universal Studios emailed me back ( very impressed) on my question of whether you can upgrade an existing pass to include the Horror Nights. You can but it costs $39 so is only $10 less than buying a separate pass and it can only be done in the park so you cannot pre-book. Frankly it doesn't seem worth upgrading given the size of the saving. I will be saving my day passes for another time when they don't boot you out of the park early to set up for the evening show and will buy a separate ticket for the Horror Nights.

I have found both universal and disney are extremely helpful and come back to you really quickly.

I had to e-mail the hard rock people when I was trying to find out about oasis being there in August, and they kindly sent me all the details so I could book, and came back to me really quickly.

They are also both extremely good if you phone up over there.

(just got back so still jet lagged in spite of melatonin......, but at least my computer here doesn't put words into my copy - I write enough rubbish without it adding to it)<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Doing some research on Halloween as we are out there then ( sorry to rub it in, folks!!) and came across the new event at Busch Gardens called Howl O Scream!! Very much along the lines of the Universal Horror nights but cheaper. I have posted on it under Busch Gardens including dates and prices, Got to be done, I think.

The Universal one is VERY scarey so worth it if that's what you want but I spent the whole evening very jumpy. Everything is very dark and spooky with lots of mist and fog - and things that bump in the night (literally!!).
The mazes are quite incredible apparently although I never plucked up enough courage to go in one.
We stocked up with treats for the trick or treaters but they never came to us at all so my kids had to eat them all! Guess all the neighbours know we're a STR.

That one sounds good as well, Angela. Guess I am going to have to go to both!!! Will report back on the Busch Gardens one. Think it is new so guess no one has any experience of it?? They give a discount for Florida residents ( homeowners) as well which I am not sure Universal do. Anyone know???
