I can take 3 weeks together providing its not in school hols. I can only take 2 weeks in total between July and mid sept. Two weeks between Jan and end March ( to stop us saving it all up!)Nothing over Christmas but if I get down on bended knees and promise all sorts of wild things I can usually take hol at New Year which I seem to manage to do on alternate years.[msnwink]

I work in the wonderful [msnwink] NHS, and have had no problem taking 3 weeks annual leave.
-
Like Emma I work for Royal Bank of Scotland Group and whilst taking 2 weeks is the norm they will consider requests for different amounts of leave although it has to fit 'with business needs'
-
Luckily for us Lee is contracting so can take what hols he wants provided it does not interfere with the contract requirements. He usually builds in what weeks he wants each time he signs a new deal.

I agree I'm sure my bosses are jealous about the holidays I have and that's why they get awkward about it!

My hubbie has the same problem and even more so this year as we are taking over 3 weeks in the summer and then again at Xmas although some of these days are made up of his Xmas break - I think they are just jealous[msnwink] he's not getting paid for some of them, but we thought as it was a special birthday for him at xmas what the heck!
I on the other hand carn't take more than 3 unless it is in the 6 weeks hols as I work in a school! mind you they oew me lots of time so I have negotiated an extra week at xmas I think it will defo be a one off. I wish they would change the hols so there wern't 6 in the summer as I would prefer when the weather was cooler!
I know I want it all!!!!!!!!![msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

We are going for 3 weeks in 2 days time. [8D]
Hubby works for the Home Office and they were ok about it. I was also ok as it is one of the few perks of running my own business! [msneek]

I work for the Emergency Services and anything over 28 days you have to get special permission. I have never known them to say no:D
-
We are lucky as being self employed can do as we please[8D] That is of course until someone leaves us short staffed and then we have to cancel our holiday:(
Our staff have to ask for permission to take more than 2 weeks at a time, but we are very accommodating and just let one of our nurses go and do voluntary work in India for 6 weeks:)

Ray has to get a 3 week holiday specially authorised as his company are not keen on anything more than 2 weeks at a time. Luckily they didn't reject his request this year and we will be able to go for three weeks in August.[msnsmile2]

Did an American company buy it......we always had trouble if they bought one of the English companies my hubby worked for....

I've worked for the same company for nearly the past 25 years, and it's gone thru various owners, All american until the last 'un. Never had much problem with requesting 3 weeks. But now head office of our co is English, but the parent company is a French/American <s>congolera</s> <s>conglermerate</s> <s>conglomorate</s> huge company.
