How about a day at Discovery Cove, you don't all have to do the Dolphin swim (3 year old couldn't)but there is plenty to keep you occupied. THis would of course be quite costly and you would need to think about booking soon

That is another good idea and I know it is something he has mentioned in the past - my daughter is 16 in May and it is one of the things she wants to do so could kill 2 birds with 1 stone!!!

my daughter is 17 in Nov and we're trying to get her to do it in nov when we go,
yes must admit my kids would probably like the sunset, just thought it would be nice for the 2 of you, Lauren, (my youngest at 9) would go anywhere and pretend to like it just so long as she is with me!
i know I would like this sunset trip down to Key West

You are right it would be more romantic but Florida is always family time so we do everything together - i took him on the Orient Express Northern Belle 4 years ago on Valentines Day and that was soooooooooooo romantic![msnwink]

Lucy - would you believe that just as an experiment I typed in www.floridaaircharter.com to see if there was anything on the end of it ... and lo and behold it's exactly what I was thinking of. They have a selection of aircraft from small-ish twins right up to Learjets. Most of the twins look to be configured as 6 seats but you might be able to put hubby in the right-hand seat in the cockpit.
I've no idea of cost, other than it isn't going to be cheap. Couldn't hurt to give them a call though.

Being Aviators, take them all to the Space Centre.

Already been several times! Thanks though CDV - would go if there was a Shuttle going up that is one thing he wants to see[msnwink]

I agree with CDV (as usual [msnwink]), but arrange the excellent ATX (Astronaut Training Experience) at the KSC for him as a birtday gift. I've went on this when my dear wife gave ut to me as an anniversary gift while I presented her with a pass to Discovery Cove. ATX is a wonderful experience which your other half will appreciate. Look it up in the KSC website. While he is doing it, the rest of you can enjoy KSC as usual.

How about a hot air balloon flight. They do a champagne breakfast flight. As we always watch them go over our villa in the mornings when we are over in Florida, my husband is quite keen so this is what I've been thinking of for his 50th in a couple of years time.
Instead of watching a sunset he watch the sunrise on his next 50 years!
Or for real magic what about a short cruise on the Disney cruise liner. They have some 3 or 4 day ones which are usually cheaper in August.

Why not go the full enchilada and charter a flight down to Key West to watch the sunset?
[/quote]
Now that sounds really cool, got any ideas of cost or any other details Steve?

Have to agree!! That sounds like something a bit special[msnwink]If it is within your budget it certainly sounds like a good idea. A meal somewhere special doesn't cater for the young ones quite as well, but Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian is a god call!
