We had that problem too Heather, a really chilly day when we went and our boys complained about the freezing cold water in the lake area. THey preferred the flumes and slides at the other parks.[msnsmile]

RC was great! Really relaxing and good fun! We swam with Goofy there, My wife adores Goofy!
swimming with Goofy what a treat.
Oh what a shame we were all wondering what ever happened to RC, we really enjoyed it there just a relaxing sort of place very natural,
How very sad to see those photos my kids will be very disappointed
lets hope they turn it into something else soon.
I've always opted to go to the other water parks and never managed River Country. Now that I can't go - I'm quite sad that I never tried it [msnsad]
River Country was a great natural old fashioned water park. Shame it's closed.

I love river country. I had read that it closed after numbers had dwindled after 9/11 - but the water contamination sounds feasbible.
The pics are really sad - I remember 1st time we went when my daughter was 8 (she's now 16) and looking at the slide and thinking oh look at that small girl on that big slide - then realising it was my child - she loved it.
I would definitely go there if it was still open.
