Evening all, mum's taxi service is awaiting the call - as someone is still in Reading at 11.30 I think I can safely say I have time for a bath.
Both the gals went out for supper so I cooked the bare bones of the curry (dry fried the onions, added a couple of spoons of patak korma paste, added the chicken and then some water) and it's in the fridge for tomorrow when we are feeding the masses.
Supper was spaghetti carbonara made with creme fraich (low fat) and all fat from the bacon drained off, accompanied by a large salad. However I did allow myself 2 glasses of wine tonight!
All exhausted after a very busy day at work, so don't know how the gals found the energy to go out, watching the box and reading the paper was about all we were up for!
Have a good day tomorrow peeps.

Mizzy, dont feel bad, as you say, you cannot make it better for him. I think the summer holidays are too long and this is probably half of your problem, they get out of the routine of school and then when the holiday ends it can be stressful for them. I am sure he will be fine once he gets this week over with.

Mizzy this is for you[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug][grouphug] You are a great Mum and you have to cope with more than most so please don't beat yourself up[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]

Oh Mizzy you must have had a rotten day, as has your poor little chap as he just cannot understand why he is going back earlier than his sister. Must seem like a punishment to him, and he can't understand it at all. Is he going to be any good at school?
I agree with Karen these holidays are far too long and they get bored out of their minds and it is such a shock to the system when they finally go back.
Had a lazy day after working yesterday, made a nice chicken korma this evening with low fat creme fraiche instead of cream, and v tasty it was too (she says modestly!).
Waiting for the call from the hospital for ED now, I really do think I am going to have to defer my reconstruction until I know what is going on. (Due in on the 23rd which is no time now.) In the meantime it is my birthday at the weekend and then YDs 18th the following week, so we are having a big party on the 16th. Am vaguely trying to work out the food, and at the moment a BBQ is favourite, although it does depend on the weather. If it rains plan b kicks in where I cook whatever I can think of to feed the masses!
Have a good day peeps, I feel I need a little getting back on track, so might have a purge and eat lots of fresh fruit and drink tons of water!
