My Travel

Has anyone ever travelled to the states with <span style=&#39;color:red&#39;>My Travel </span id=&#39;red&#39;>before,I said that I would never travel with this company again after being delayed in airport&#39;s on the way home from Majorca and a day trip to Lapland for a full 24hrs both times.Then on receiving my booking confirmation from Direct Holidays found that they are part of the same group and will be flying with them from Manchester to Sanford on the 19/08/04.Please give me some good accounts if you know of any.[msncry]

I am in Florida at the moment having flown with mytravel from Gatwick to Sanford, no problems at all except a very small delay in boarding. I also flew with thenm to Barbados last year and couldnt fault them at all. Maybe they just have their act together better for long haul flights. I will update about return leg of journey.

Used Mytravel a few times when they were Airtours. No worse than some of the other charters. They got us there OK - sometimes delays - mainly coming back. Looking at todays business news it seems that they are contemplating losing a few hundred staff (mostly pilots and aircrew, the news said) so you might get the chance not to travel with them again!![msneek]

The last three times we have visited Florida, April, December & May, we have flown with My Travel.
The December flight had to touch down in Shannon for a sick child to be taken to hospital. The flight attendants were excellent.

We have n't experienced any delays caused by the airline.:)

We flew with them Newcastle to Sanford in April, couple of hours delay outbound and about 1-1/2 hours inbound. Seat pitch was 29" or 30" and they "lost" my medical request on the return flight which meant I was sitting twisted sideways across a centre row for the return flight.

Won't use them again unless they guarantee Premiere seats will be available, people had booked and paid for them and there were none at all on either flight, all seats were the same.

Mytravel were on the news yesterday, They are cutting i think 9 planes along with the 450 staff from Manchester. They have huge debts at present. They nearly went bust last year and clearly still have major problems.

hi jake,i don`t think the current state of the the company is a issue,they are cutting costs like all other travel companies post 9/11 but with the added burden of the accounts be done by anderson consulting which were linked to the eron .and in a better position than they were 2 years ago.they are still covered by iarta and abta,i have flown 4 times twice in a 767 and twice on the airbus a330 which are fantastic,they are no better or worse than any other charters with regard to delays but the delays tend to be less on the transatlantic routes .i have no links with the travel industry i just wish to support a local company in hard times ...ps first choice made a £200 million loss and their share price went up just carn`t work that one out

Travelled to Sanford from Manchester with MyTravel twice.....never again.

We were delayed 10hrs on the return leg in 2002 and 9 hours on the outbound leg this year.

Delays are inevitable, but the web of misinformation and lies that were told was unforgivable.

When they were Airtours, they were constantly bottom of the charter airline ratings for reliability and customer satisfaction. Changing the name doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Hope nobody is flying out of Cardiff with My Travel. ~After October they are reducing their services its because their profit droped from £11.2 m to £6.2Million just like my turn over[msnoo][msnoo]

We flew with them Aug 2003 and April 2004. No delays in Aug, but delayed 3 hours in April on outbound flight.
